Linda ~ I'm really sorry to hear about the bleeding again too. I hate that you're having to deal with this and can't wait to hear the good news that it has stopped...

Daney ~ I thought I'd brighten your mood even more by saying that at 8w5d you ARE in your 9th week. When you hit the 9w date that means you are 9 weeks and starting your 10th week then. Pretty cool huh?

As far as my weekend went...well DH and I went with several other neighbor/friend couples to see "A Chorus Line"...it was fun to get out. We met before for drinks and apps, but I just drank ginger ale in a wine glass...Then we went back to the same couple's house afterward and picked up on the drinks where they left off. It was kinda different being the only person in the room not drinking. I finally walked back across the street to go to bed at midnight. I woke up at 2 and DH STILL wasn't home!! I think everyone finally left at 3. Crazy...Of course this is the first time in 4 or so months that anyone has seen each other b/c we've all been snowed in...that cabin fever is VICIOUS!! Then today I spent all day cleaning my house which hasn't had a decent cleaning in the last 3 months...yuck!!! That's it for me...what about everybody else?

Well, I've got my "feel good" u/s at 3:30 today. It sucks that I have to wait so long, but I guess it is okay. I've already waited all weekend anyway. I've been feeling much more positive in the last 2 days, so I'm thinking things are going to be just fine. OMG!! I can't wait to be out of this scary period!! I realize things can still go wrong past week 12 but the odds are MUCH more in my favor after that point.

Oh, and a kind of funny thing happened when I was on the phone with the receptionist...I could have sworn that she said "he" when referring to the u/s tech. I didn't really hit me until I was hanging up the phone, but I thought, "there's no way I'm going to be comfortable with a male tech sticking that probe up my vajayjay!!" I prefer female practioners in every medical field if I can find them (even dentists). So anyways, I felt stupid, but I called back to make sure I heard right...I was really worried that I was going to have to cancel, so...I didn't hear right...they have 2 female techs...as it should be!!! Can you imagine? Gives me the hebbie gebbies just thinking about it...

So, I'll post some time later this afternoon with my good news (thinking positive now).

Linda- Youre on my mind! Ill be praying for your two little ones!! I hope that things clear up for you soon. I have just entered a period of less worry, and its SO nice. I want that for you.

so, my weekend was pretty uneventful. Im craving fruits like stawberries and grapes and pineapple. However, this is all ballanced out by my other craving, cheddar and sour cream ruffles- and old fav. of mine!

also, my little sister, 23, just called to say that they found out her baby is a girl. Shes about 19 weeks. still havent told her we're expecting. I think Im going to hold out a few more weeks. Something nice about a secret. And since she lives a few states away, its really easy.

Melissa, Hope all is well with your u/s, waiting to hear all about it.

Daney, Glad to hear those dopplers work so well, something I have been thinking about renting.

I got to hear the heartbeat for the 1st time today! It was kind of crazy because you could hear the baby's heart and then my heart, it was hard for me to tell the difference at times. The OB said she could even hear the baby flipping around, I was not able to tell what that sounded like. It took a few seconds for her to find the heartbeat and I almost started to cry thinking the worst, but there it was a loud fast swooshy sound!

Thanks for your well wishes ladies!! So, little babybean is in good shape, and I am too now . The heart rate is 160...the tech said that is really good...making me lean toward the boy arena...I wonder why the heart rates can be so different? Daney I see your post about the heart monitor and yours is way higher and you're a little behind me...isn't it curious? In addition to seeing a healthy little bean with its wonderfully healthy heart, I got to HEAR it FINALLY!!!! DH didn't come today b/c it was impromptu, so I was alone the first time I heard our baby. I've got an appt Wednesday anyways...we'll hear it again then. We can cry together then...I cried alone today.

Okay, so I'm going to order my heart monitor now too. We were able to do the u/s through my tummy instead of inside this time. I'm guessing that I should be able to find the heartbeat too now.

So let me ask you ladies something about the "age" of our babies at this stage...so my tech said the baby is measuring 10w3d. That's 3 days ahead, but when I look at the printout/picture it says 9w5d. Here's my question...do the days measure differently depending on the angle? What I mean is, is it possible that there is an exact right angle where the baby was 10w3d, but the picture she gave me was of a different angle where the baby was measuring differently/smaller? Am I getting my question across right? I'm not sure if I'm asking it right.

Sorry, that it took me so long to post...I know how we worry when we don't hear news...

Tiff ~ so glad to have you join us!!

Danielle ~ I'm so glad to see that you got to hear yours today too!!

Melissa - I burst out sobbing (I think I even snorted!) when I heard the h/b. My g/f was with me, but my dh was out of the country... I'm glad your dh will be there Wed - bring the Kleenex :-) So glad you reached that reassuring milestone today!

Daney - what a strong h/b; so glad you heard it today. That's awesome!

Danielle - aren't those doppler machines incredible? I'm addicted to mine! And it's cool that you were so easily able to detect the h/b so early. Must be really healthy!

Congratulations! But how on earth were they able to tell so soon???? That is amazing. Let the search for the perfect boy's name begin!

I have my NT scan this Wednesday, results come in a week to 10 days later. Soooo nervous. Has anyone been through this yet? Words of advice? (I was originally supposed to go in April 30th, but at my appointment this past Friday -- during which we saw little fingers waving at us on the u/s machine! -- my OB said it would be fine to move it up by a week.)

I'm sure everything will be fine! Though I know how nervewracking each milestone u/s is. Ours is on the 30th, so I'll be looking to you for advice, as I think you're the first to go through it of our November group.

I think it's more common to misinterpret a girl that later becomes a boy, versus vice versa. I could even see the two tiny circles (gonads) and a bright white line in between - it was kind of funny/cute, actually! Who knows? You might be able see the gender on Wednesday, too!
