I have caught some flack for using Ryleigh as my parents have only heard of it for a boy spelled Riley. I actually was going to name a daughter Brooklyn Madison as her initials would be BMW and I figure that would be the only way I would own a BMW! I am pretty set for Ryleigh Ann but I figure once I know for sure the gender than I may buy a book and see if another name jumps out at me.

I know of 2 little girls with the name Riley (that spelling). I think it's really cute.
I also always wanted a BMW and finally bought one back in December. So, it was a '96 and only $8000 but it was my long wanted BMW. Now, I have to sell it because there is no room for 4 kids in the back seat! I got to own a BMW for a whole 6 months. Now when my boys are bad I'm going to remind them - I gave up my BMW for you!!

Thats ok, its hard to keep up with all these names and who they go with. Mckenzie is the name my Sister chose for me if we are having a girl.
Mckenzie Renee is the name she chose, I am undecide on McKenzie Renee or McKenzie Noel.

Tammy-that BMW story is precious. Remind them also that you gave up some of the calcium in your bones and teeth, alot of sleep, thousands of dollars, your waistline for awhile.....your sanity, your perky boobs... oh yeah.... thats right..... the list never ends!! Lol

I Like Chase and Gavin,

Chandra-I think the "y" in Ashtyn makes it very feminine. You should show the ultra girly spetting to convince people its for a girl if they really dont believe you! its Ashton thats totally a boy, not Ashtyn!! I think your name is GREAT

McKenzie Noel is so cute, but Renee maybe sounds a little more mature, and less seasonal.... I dont know, Im having a hard time w that one.

Marlie Renee sounds pretty good too!

So does Charlotte Renee-maybe we should all just stick it on!

Danielle- Youre a good woman. I dont think Id do a junior, even for my DH, if I wasnt pretty excited about it. esp. after an IVf. good for you.

i cant remember who was talking about Mason and Aiden, but I have to admit, that there are ALOT of Aidens around right now. I really like Mason, bc it sounds strong, and manly. If you really like Aiden though, theres nothing wrong w using it!!

ps-I know its annoying, but Im hilighting names so people can skim, and still not miss the part on Their name.

About me: today was my anatomy us and baby Charlotte was in a horrible position, turned totally around, and back toward me. they couldnt get a good view of a few of the things they check on, and want me to come back in a week to try again. (they did see the heart, which looked great though, and everything else that they saw they said was good)They thought I would me mad, but Im excited, bc I get another free us!!
I also saw the little twin we lost. There is such a huge difference in size. Its not going to absorb. Poor little one. I miss the feeling of having twins inside. I like to think that that little child might come to us next time, and be our next miracle.

Good news about the heart.

I love all this talk of names! So many good ones floating around on this thread. And if there are any that I'm not wild about, it's not my place to criticize. After all, it's just a matter of taste, not life or death. We've all come a long way to make it to this point; we should name our kids whatever we like. (Though I will say that I think everyone should strive to select names that wouldn't limit one's children later in life. But that's just my opinion. Then again, no one seems really to be going that route, so it's a non-issue.) As for people's objections to names you may select for your child, ignore them or, better yet, just don't tell them. My husband and I have a favorite girl's name, but we're not sharing it with anyone because we don't want to hear any complaints. (I'd like to think that, once the baby is born and named, most people will be too tactful to comment on the name. When it's just an idea, people are more likely weigh in.)

As for middle names for Charlotte, I love Charlotte Belle or Charlotte Beatrice. (As of now, Belle is our middle name of choice, with Beatrice a close second. Beatrice is also on our list for first names, but is not the front runner at this time.)

Any good suggestions for "S" names?

Eggy-
S names are right up my alley.
Serena
Sarina (I have a SIL named Sarah, and its a derivative of that.)
Savannah
Sonora (think wild hearts cant be broken-the horse movie)
These are all among my pesonal favorites, and on my list for future female offspring.
For boys I love:
Soren
and I named my boy Stephen Asher, as you may know.

for some reason unexplained, I do seem stuck on S's.
Strange but true.

Oh, that's right Danielle, sorry about that (Daney's having a boy...duh!). Well I'm putting my vote in for McKenzie Renee too. I really like the sound of the names together.

Marie ~ Though it would have been nice to see everything today, I can see why it isn't all bad news...just another opportunity to see the little one again next week!

Eggy ~ I'm just dying to know what your girl's name is! How mysterious! I'm drawing a blank on "S" names...looks like Marie's on a role though

Eggy - So for girls, I love Stella, Sophie and Shelby (there I go again with my Steel Magnolias names!) - and for boys, I think I like Sutton and maybe Sullivan? Hmm, I will have to think about it - I know there are some other cute ones I have seen. You are thinking its a girl though, right, so maybe you only needed girls names starting with an S!

We've got a good idea of what names we'd use for either gender, but I still want suggestions because this is a big decision, and I want to be 100% certain. (And while I think it's going to be a girl, I won't be completely convinced until the anatomy scan.) Thanks for the ideas, and keep 'em coming!

Marie- I do like Stephen, but my husband is Steve. (We're Jewish, so we don't name babies for people who are still living, and I'd like to keep my husband around for a while!) As for Soren, I like it, but my husband immediately started with the Kierkegaard jokes. I also really like the name Serena for a girl, but when I bring it up, my husband says, "Like Williams?" (I'd want our child to have a name without celebrity associations.)

Heather - I love Sophie, which was my fantasy name before I got pregnant -- until everyone I know named their babies Sophie or Sophia last year (I can think of four right off the top of my head.) I want something that's not so done, though the name we love is somewhat similar -- same number of letters, two syllables, and popular in France (We are nerdy Francophiles.)

What other names are you ladies thinking of using?

Well, I think I may have actually felt the first flutters last night!! It was very light, almost like gas. I got the doppler out and I could hear the baby moving and kicking, so I figured that might've actually been it!! How do you ladies describe the feeling?

Marie - You are so right. I have so much ammo to use against them when they are bad. Of course two little boys will care less that I gained weight and ended up with saggy boobs! I'll just have to love them anyway.
And I'm glad your scan part 1 went well. Hopefully she will cooperate during part 2 so you can see the rest of her. The day of my scan, I ate a couple of chocolate chip cookies about an hour prior hoping that a little sugar would get them moving around. I guess it worked we eventually saw everything on both boys.

Eggy - I'm taking a guess on your girl name but I won't spell it out. If you take away the last letter, would it be a boy name?? I don't know if we are talking about he same name, but if we are, I love it. It was a name I was thinking of for a little girl. All this code is making me laugh!

Rennae ~ I'm thinking that I've been feeling my little gymnist too. I can't say for sure because I know that it is really early for a first time mom, but I figure if I can feel myself ovulate, then it is very possible that I'm feeling the baby right now. It isn't often, but it the sensations are coming just a little right off center where I know the baby is. At first I would have described the feelings as a gas bubble, light spasm kind of feeling. Now they're a bit of a light tap, tap feeling. Like lightly tapping your ring finger on your cheek...barely noticable. Maybe?

How would you decribe yours? Ladies who've been pregnant before, how do you describe the first "kicks" you feel?

Melissa, this early you wont actually feel kicks. The babies muscles still are not strong enough at 16 weeks to kick, but the flutters are them moving around. I believe on my daily calender it says you actually start to feel kicks around 20 weeks. I just started noticing flutters every once in a whille last week.

One of my friends described the first kicks as feeling like a goldfish swimming around. I've also heard it described as bubbles.

Tammy, I sent you a PM; it's not the name you think. (It has an "ie" ending.)

Why can't I stop eating chocolate chip cookies? Every week it's a new food obsession. One week, all pineapple, all the time. Another week, veggie burgers and kale salad every day. Another week, chicken salad sandwiches with avocado. (The only way I can get down chicken is as a chicken salad.) This week, chocolate chip cookies. My husband is so confused.
