At least it doesn't sound like your morning sickness (or afternoon sickness as the case my be) is too bad. When my mother was pregnant with my brother (her first) she had m/s for about 6 months. She might have had hyperemesis but I'm not sure just how bad off she was. But she didn't have anything but a little queasiness with my sister and me.
So far, all I've had is a bit of queasiness. I hope it stays that way, but if being pregnant means throwing up, then I won't complain too much ![]() |

hey team, I missed a lot today - but in summary, I AGREE, that throwing up or feeling nauseous is so wonderful. I welcome the cramping, the spacey feeling, the nausea, BRING IT ON BABY!!!
And I am so glad I have this forum to talk - DH and I have only told two people and will wait until a couple more weeks pass to tell more, SO this is a much needed chat room Can't wait to post BIG FAT beta numbers tomorrow - mine usually come in the late afternoon. Talk to you then. ![]()

good luck ladies with your betas tomorrow.
i have only told one woman at work that i am expecting, she also has gone thru IVF and she has been such a rock of strength and support for me. My mother knows... she works in retail and there was a sale and i bought maternity clothes, and she hasn't said anything but she knows. we said we wouldn't tell anyone until we see the heartbeat (u/s in 7th week) but now i am not sure if i want to wait until 12 weeks. when are you planning to tell everyone?

I've told my parents and my sister. I'll probably tell my brother and his wife this weekend. Last time we told a couple friends.. one who is my very best friend in the world and another who also went through IF. My sister doesn't think we should tell anyone other than family until 12 weeks, but I don't really want to wait that long. All the people I told last time were people I knew I could lean on if the worst happened, which it did.

historyteach - we will tell our close friends and our immediate family after the 2nd or 3rd beta (I have to get 3). Neighbors and peripheral friends probably around 10 wks or so. BUT if it were to come up before then and it felt right, I wouldn't go out of my way to avoid telling them. The way I look at it, I have to be 100% hopeful and confident in my heart that this will be a successful pregnancy so I can give my body the best chance possible - so why shouldn't I share if I want to, I am PG after all
When I do start talking, I will shout it from the rooftops because we are so blessed to be ![]()

Jamie,
My DH and I told my siblings with whom I am very close, his parents (mine are no longer living), and one of my best friends after the second BETA. We thought about waiting to see the heartbeat with the ultrasound, but we really want the little one to have all the prayers from our families. I think we will tell other people after the first trimester. Tomorrow I get the results from my third BETA. My doctor does not require it, but I just really really want to see where we are right now. I have another week and a few days for ultrasound. I sometimes get a bit freaked because I don't really have symptoms. With my daughter whom I carried into my third trimester I got really sick. This time I have had AF-like cramps (which are kind of going away today), somewhat sore BBs, and a bit of fatigue-- but all very mild. Wishing for some of that sickness that Miss Joli had. ![]() Okay, I am going off a bit here today. Thanks for the ear Ladies.

Hey Marilynn, I have my first ultrasound on the same day as you.
we see our little beans with strong heart beats! We have told our families, and our closest friends that know we're going through all the IF stuff. I've told my boss at work, and two other people there. Everybody at work knows about our loss, and I've been very open about the IF stuff, so people are always asking me how things are going. Those 2 other people happened to ask how things were going, and I just couldn't hold back. I wanted to at least wait until after the heartbeat, or until after we made it past the mark where we miscarried last time. Oh well.

thanks for telling me what you are doing, i am busting at the seams to tell someone, but i just want to wait until i see that beautiful heartbeat. i have to wait to the week of the 14th for an u/s - so i am about a week and half. i guess i can hold out that long.
Marilynn - i am right there with you, the symptoms are very slight and i wish for something more but i keep praying that this will be a wonderful pregnancy. anybody gain any weight yet? i know it is early and i am not sure what is going on but i have gained 2 lbs in the last week, WTF? it is way to early. and if this is what is going to happen, i am going to be big as a house by the end ![]()

I don't think I've gained any weight yet (although my belly feels SO bloated). I think part of this is becuase I have some food aversions.

I haven't gained any weight yet, thank God. I'm actually hoping to lose a little more before I start gaining baby weight. I'm going to try to only gain about 15-20 pounds. One of the stylists at my salon yesterday was talking to her client about someone else having a baby and she mentioned that she had gained 90 pounds with one of her children and 60 with the other! You'd never know by looking at her now though.
So I was talking to my sister this morning and the topic of telling other people came up. We (the whole family, not just DH and me) have a friend who thinks of us as her second family. She also had IF issues with both of her girls and she knows about all the stuff I've been through. Last time I was pregnant, I told her about it because I knew how excited she would be and also because I knew that if the worst happened, she was the one person around me who knew what it was like. She's also a kind of self-centered person. If it doesn't involve her or her children, it's just not quite as important. Anyway, my sister doesn't want me to tell her about this pregnancy until 12 weeks. I found out this morning that she doesn't want me to tell her because she feels like this woman will take over and she (my sister) with get "kicked to the curb." So... I can't share my happiness with my friend because my sister will feel left out? I realized when I hung up the phone that my sister doesn't want it to be all about Dawn (the friend) because she wants it to be all about her. "Hello, Pot? Yeah... you're black too." |
