jenny - i would do whatever feels comfortable for you. this is all about you and your DH and your new family. so you make the decision and tell your sister to back out.

about the weight - i flucuate alot, and i gained 40 lbs during my treatments since last spring and i know i really don't need to gain any more weight, i guess i am just going to have to be really careful. my DH responded with well didn't you think you were going to gain weight?

hope that you are having a fabolous friday

Oh I fully intend to tell whoever I want when I want regardless of what my sister thinks. She tries to make everything about her and yet she told me that she isn't a drama queen. Right. She actually cried to my dad last time I was pregnant because now I was going to be the center of attention. That's probably the reason she doesn't want me to tell people.. the more people who know, the more possibilities they'll focus on me and not her. One day she'll grow up.

Jenny-how crazy! This is your time! What a special announcement. If it take a little attention away from someone, WELL THEN IT SHOULD! It's a very big deal and a helluva reason to celebrate and focus on you and DH!

Historyteach-I've gained a lot of weight over the past few years. My doctor wants me to gain less then 20 lbs with the pregnancy. I'm actually hoping it's less then that. I'm trying really hard to be careful what I eat. I'm sure if I start developing cravings, that may be impossible. I already have too much extra weight on me, so I've got to be VERY careful. Ugh.

Can't wait to hear those beta numbers!

I know! You'd think she was my younger sister, but she's not.. she'll be 34 in July!

Is anyone else suffering from allergies? The pollen down here is so incredibly high and I can't breathe!! I googled using nasal spray while pregnant and it said you shouldn't use it except maybe at bed time. And really, it's not all that good to use anytime either. Anyone know anything that's safe to take? I'm going to my GP this afternoon so I think I'll ask her.

Jenny - you should try acupuncture for your allergies. I went earlier this week for my sinuses because I couldn't breathe, I always go and it works wonders. Make sure they are licensed and that they know your pregnant, but otherwise it is perfectly safe for you and the babe.

I am so nervous for my beta - have you heard yet?

Hey and welcome Tamtam!

I can't wait to hear everyone's beta numbers!!!

Jenny, are you sure it's allergies? I read that when you're pregnant, you get a lot of mucus everywhere from all of the blood flowing. I had a really stuffy/runny nose last time I was preggers, but don't have it this time (yet) . I kept thinking I was getting a cold, but in fact it was a pregnancy symptom! Just a thought.

Joline, my sinus stuff this week was because of PG, so it is definitely a symptom.

Yay for great betas Rebecca and Marilynn!! I got the message from my nurse a little while ago and my 2nd beta was 113.8! She didn't tell me about my estrogen or progesterone this time, but she wasn't concerned about anything so that's fine with me. I go in Monday for my 3rd. Because my history of ectopic, they're going to monitor me a little more closely which is perfectly fine with me.

And I'm pretty sure it's allergies. The pollen counts around here are through the roof. It might be worse because of being pregnant, but that's definitely not the only cause. My GP said that OTC Claritin is fine to take so I might try that. I've taken it before but I can't remember if it helped or not. And as for the acupuncture, I would love to try it but it's not covered by our insurance and I'm not sure I could afford it based on what other people have told me about the cost of their treatments.
