Morning Ladies!
I went in for my 3rd beta this morning and am anxiously awaiting the results. I asked them to check my thryoid this time too. From what I've read, it seems pretty standard to need to increase thyroid meds during pregnancy and they haven't been checking it so far. I don't want something so simple to cause any problems. Thanks for making the due date list, Jamie! (It was you who did it, right? I would check back but this site loads sooo slowly for me at work that it would take 10 minutes.) Here it is updated with my info: Jamie - Dec 1st (PA) Amy - Dec 1st Suzi - Dec 2nd? (MA) Shannon - Dec 3rd Marilynn - Dec 6rd Joli - Dec 6th (KY) Jenny - Dec 9th (AL) Rebecca - Dec 12th (IL) Tami -

QUESTION about counting weeks
Team, I have a question, I have calculated my due date appropriately, but as I try to read about what's happening to my baby/body this week, I wonder if I am still in week 4 or now in week 5?
My cycle started march 7th, so I was exactly 4 weeks pregnant on april 4th. Thanks for helping me out ![]()

Stopping progesterone
Hi everyone,
I go in for my first ultrasound on Friday, I can't wait. When I spoke to the Dr. last Friday, she said if all looks well, we will be discontinuing the PIO shots. I kind of freaked out b/c my progesterone has been fluctuating between 20.5 (barely making it) and 28. I told her I was worried about it, NOT that I wanted to keep taking the shots which are killing me, but still....She said if this were a normal pregnancy we wouldn't know so much about it (to freak out over). I guess I'll just wait to see what happens Friday, but I was wondering if anyone has ever stopped progesterone this early (with fairly low progesterone levels).

Rebecca, I think the way it works is that you are 4 weeks, 3 days pregnant (according to your ticker) which means you have completed your 4th week and are in your 5th. Does that make sense and/or answer your question?

I'm pretty sure that's right, Rebecca. Sounds logical to me anyway.
Well I have great news. My nurse just called with my 3rd beta and it's 487!! It quadrupled in three days! I asked about my thyroid and she said she has to get the doctor's approval and he's out of town. But she said she would talk to him tomorrow and that the lab still has the blood that was taken today so they can still check it. She also said that this early on, it probably wouldn't be an issue yet so that's reassuring too.

Yay for a great beta! ![]() Amy-I'm not sure about that. Could you just tell her that you're really concerned about it, and would prefer to go ahead and stay on it? I mean, it won't hurt anything, so she should let you, ya know? Do you have any extra that you could just keep taking if she won't write you a new script? Maybe she'll let you take the suppositories instead of the shots.

My RE's general protocol for people with historically low progesterone is 10 weeks of progesterone supplements. I am taking progesterone suppositories twice daily and mine is at about 48 as of this past Thursday. They are making me continue them until 10 weeks. Your date to quit them does seem early to me, but I am obviously no expert on this so .... for whatever it's worth. ![]() When I am uncomfortable with something my RE has suggested, I just try to talk it out with them. It may be irritating to them a bit, but I think it's best that you are comfortable with the decision. Hope this helps a bit.

Jenny,
Congrats on a wonderful BETA! Thank you everyone for your responses on the progesterone. I think I will push for the suppositories. I could barely walk today b/c of those darn shots. For some reason my right side takes it much harder than the left, whether I do it in the leg or backside. I'll keep you posted about Friday...I can't wait!
