I love that folks are getting their kids, sisters, dhs to feel your babies' movements. I've so far been the only one to feel them (except a tiny one that dp felt last week - she was unimpressed, because she couldn't really tell what it was). Yesterday evening I was working late at a meeting and I could actually see my belly giving little leaps - THAT was incredible.

Jenn - I'm sorry about the clothing issues. I hope your jeans end up working well for you. I'm amazed that you were still using the bella band - for weeks I've felt like it's too uncomfortable to have my regular pants opened up like they've needed to be. Among all of the clothing passed on from work folks, there's pretty much one professional shirt that I look decent in. So I'm figuring when I have meetings, people will just have to deal seeing me in the same thing over and over.

Hope everyone's doing well! B

I know I'm kinda far along to be using the belly bands.. but I've been fortunate that I still haven't really gained any weight, just shifted it around. I'm still 2lb under my pre-preggy weight. Plus, my jeans were a little on the loose side to begin with so that helped stretch their usefulness. I also have a pair of jeans in each one and two sizes larger than I was normally wearing so I might be able to get by with those. I need to go through the maternity clothes my friend gave me and see if any of the tops are useful. She's a few inches shorter than me so I don't think any of the pants/shorts/capris would work, plus they are really casual (what I have seen anyway). I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my new clothes.. the jeans should be here tomorrow, yay!

Jenny- You inspired me!!! I went to the motherhood store today and bought 2 pairs of pants (one is a brown color and the other is a kacki colored really soft corteroy(sp), I also bought 2 new shirts and a super soft and stretchy sweater...as it should start getting pretty cool here...soon...some of the mornings are already a bit cool.

I justified it by saying they are my birthday presents...since my birthday is on Sept 10th. Dh hasn't been home yet to see them. I hope he likes them.

I was wondering how your pups were doing. I'm sure it won't be too long if the Dr. said about a week left to go.

Sorry about the headache . Maybe you need a good nap like I had today. I feel so much better now ....lol...or maybe it was the shopping therapy...and excitement to wear my new clothes???

How are the prices, selection, and quality at Motherhood, Jessica? I've only stopped in at ours once and it was about the middle of the 1st trimester so I wasn't really looking to buy anything.. just taking a quick peek. I have some shirts I need to return to a few places so when I get around to doing that I'll have a little more money in my "clothing budget". I can get by with fewer pairs of pants if I have a decent selection of tops to rotate through.

Well I usually go for anything that's on sale. The pair of jeans I wear practically everyday I bought on sale for $19.99. I was hoping I'd find something similiar today...but I couldn't...so the two pairs of pants I bought were both $39.99. But I love them and they have the nylon type thing around the waist...a lot more comfy than the material and thick band I have on my jeans. I saw a pair of jeans I liked there...but they were $49.99 and I wasn't willing to buy them...since I already have that other pair of jeans.

The two shirts I bought were both on sale...$24.99 from $29.99 so I saved a little there. The sweater was like $49.99 but it was on sale for $24.99 so I decided to get it...it was so soft and fuzzy and super stretchy...I could probably stretch it enough to put two of me in it comfortably (just the kind of stretchy fabric it is). I'll try and take some pics...to show off the new clothes. The only problem with the sweater is it's a bright color (which I normally like) but it's also bright and striped horizontally.....which kinda makes me nervous....I don't want to look like a whale. But it will go fine with my jeans or the two pants I just bought. Plus even though it's soft and fuzzy it's not thick at all and I tend to get too hot....so I think it will be just right for my needs.

There was also this pretty white t-shirt...that gathers on each side. I almost bought it...it was on sale for $14.99. I might still go back and get it. BUt I spent enough money for one night.

I'm wearing one of my new outfits today...brown pants and a striped shirt . The pants are super comfy with only one problem...I keep having to pull them up...I don't have much shape to my butt/hips...lol...so nothing to really keep them up and the nylon is so comfy but not very good in the way of holding them up(maybe that thick tighter band on my jeans was there for a reason). I tried folding the nylon down just above my hips...and that helps a little...but they still ride down. Anyone else have this problem.

Over all...they were well worth the money, for the comfort..and lots of room for me to still grow!!!

(It's funny the nylon can stretch all the way up to my bra line with no problem...lol..I've considered getting some clips...to attach my bra to the nylon...to help hold hem up...kinda like suspenders...I'm such a DORK!!!

Hmm. Don't really have any suggestions for you, Jessica. I generally have the same problem with most of my capri pants. The pair I have on today have safety pins on each side of the button to make them fit better. And I can still pull them off without undoing them. Hopefully they'll start to fit a little better as you grow into them.

Something I just remembered about maternity clothes. The Liz Lange stuff from Target runs pretty small in their sizes. My mom bought me a maternity shirt from there a couple months ago, size 2X I think (maybe only 1X) and it was so tight, especially across the chest and shoulders, that I would have need about 2 of them sewn together for it to fit. Normally a 1X is a good fit. I was really disappointed too because it was adorable. I don't know if the pants are the same way, but I would definitely try anything on before buying it.

Yay the yorkie hatched her pups and she did a really great job but we needed to help her out as 2 were breech. She went into labour at 9pm at night and the last of the 3 pups was only born at 8am the following morning.Needless to say Dh and I are whacked. The kids were up to watch the birth too so it was really cool.I had to cut the cords and get the pups to breathe.OMG they are sooooo tiny!!!!She is quite possessive over them so its hard to take a pic but I will when I can.
Anyone else got mad eczema? Its in my elbow joints on my face and behind my knees.Making me itch ....

Yay for new puppies! I vaguely remember when the dog we had when I was a child had puppies.. I don't recall anyone needing to cut cords though. Can't wait to see the little dears!

Jenny-The corderoy pants I have on today are probably the MOST comfortable pants I have EVER worn in my life. I definatley recommend them. I LOOOOVE them and they stay up just fine. I think maybe the brown pants are just made out of a heavier material...and maybe that's why they slide down, with just that loose material at the top.

Some of the maternity shirts I try on fit (according to their size) but your right, some are way off. The two shirts I just bought are actually a 3X (yikes ) but they fit me like a 2X normally would. But that white t-shirt I had tried on was a 1X and it was pretty big on me. That's why I hate buying clothes without trying them on...and pretty much never do it.

Hey Jenny----your military right? Where are you stationed again? Or maybe I'm thinking of someone else.

Andy- YAY for the puppies. I had to help my momma dog with her first litter as well. She was in so much pain she didn't want to be touched but then she also didn't even care to clean off the babies and take care of them at first either. Though she nursed them just fine. But with all her other litters since she is very protective of them from the moment they come out...cleans them off and eats the placentas etc.

So maybe your momma dog will do better next time around ...if there is a next time.

I'm not military, I just work on an Army installation in AL as a civlian (is that spelled right?) contractor. My dad is Retired Air Force and he was stationed all over.. that's how he ended up married to an Australian woman. My brother is currently in the Air Force and stationed in Cocoa Beach, FL (Patrick AFB) though he's in Korea at the moment. At one point he was going to be sent down to Antarctica for 6 weeks or so but the assignment was cancelled. He and his family are happy about that since it would have meant he would have been gone for Christmas again this year.. he missed it last year while he was in Iraq.

Glad you've got comfy pants. I love the Old Navy jeans I'm wearing today. They're a little on the loose side, but I like it that way since it means I'll still have some room to grow into them. I got one pair of low-rise jeans and one of roll-panel. I think I like the low-rise ones better right now, but I might be grateful for the panel later on.. we'll see. My stuff from JCPenney should arrive today.. I'm already thinking I might send at least one of the pairs of pants back. I don't know.. we'll see how well I like them.

Happy Labor Day weekend to everyone! Anyone have anything fun planned? I don't I'm going to my sister's tonight to give her her cat back but I don't think I'll stay long.. I have a bit of a headache and I'm just really tired today. Other than that, I think I'll just get some laundry done and work a bit on cleaning up the bedrooms so that I can rearrange the house here soon.
