I haven't been on the forum in quite a while but thought I'd check in. Congratulations on your boys and girls! We're having 3 boys and I know how excited you must be.

Wow, you and I are only a week apart. I will keep an eye out to see how you are doing.

Hi girls. This is a great thread idea. I guess there is a few of us now! Do any of you check out the tripletconnection.com? I go there to read the info and get ideas but this forum is much more personable and the support is great.

I am having 2 boys and 1 girl too!! My DH and I are pretty excited!! I have had a great pregnancy so far but last week my doctor told me to try not to stand for more than 5 minutes! Ugh! It has been hard to do and I go over sometimes but I think the point was to make sure I get lots of rest! What have your doctors said about rest?

At how many weeks does your doctor expect the babies to be delivered? Mine is hoping for 35.

Have you thought of any names? DH and I haven't decided on any yet. I even bought a baby name book to help us!

I have to go home for bedrest at 23 weeks with home uterine monitoring. I am already going in every week for cervix measurement, probably because I have marginal placenta previa and they want to monitor it closely. They told me hospital bedrest would not be automatic, it would be if needed. They did say that alot of moms end up in the hospital towards the very end because they "can't take it anymore". I think they meant that they were able to make them more comfortable in the hospital.

My docs hope to get me to 34-35 weeks and then take by c-section. I am hoping to last that long or longer if the babies are okay. Based on how I am beginning to feel I know that I will be extremely uncomfortable by then so we will see what I say then. My back, hips and lower abdominal muscles/tendons have really started hurting the last few days and I'm hoping it's just an adjustment phase. I'm 5' 4" and started out at 110 lbs and am now about 143. Trying to follow Dr. Luke's book and it seems to be working well. At last measurement at 19 weeks, the babies were 9, 10 and 11 oz. They are all above the expected average for a singleton, so we are very pleased. How much are your little one's weighing in at this point? Have any of you used the prenatal cradle or another maternity belt/support garment? I'm thinking I need to get one and see if it helps.

Anyone else feeling ditzy these days? I'm very forgetful and having trouble multitasking at work these days...

i dont know how much they weigh. i dont like the u/s tech here in this town. they dont let me see them for long and they wont tell me anything about the babies.
i am thinking of getting the support belt soon.
i start weight was 201 and my dr only wants me to gain 15lbs. two weeks ago i had only gain 9lbs but this two weeks it looks like i have gained 7 more lbs.
i have been clumsy and ditsy, i have always been ditsy .
i have an u/s tomorrow hopefully i get to see how much they weigh

Hey ladies! Its so great that there are so many of us! I know 4 is not the many, but compared to how many triplet momma's I meet in my everyday life we're a bunch!

At my 19wk u/s the boys weighed 10 & 9oz & baby girl weighed 8oz. Our 10oz'er was ahead of the expected singleton size by 1wk, and baby girl was behind by a week. She started out a week behind though as she was my late implanter & it took almost a week for her to catch up to the boys with a heartbeat. I am not concerned about her & neither is my OB. She's just the lil pea :-)

Since my OB has told me all along that I will be on bedrest at 24wks I had the chance to get everything done between 13wks-now. The babies room is completely done, with clean folded clothes, sheets and blankets in drawers (probably the last time that'll ever happen!). We also have all our gear, ie infant carseats & peg perego triplette stroller (which I found used in excellent condition on Ebay for $250 & picked it up, so no shipping!). All we need now is the minivan, but DH can get that by himself. We have his car up so sale, so as soon as that sells. Worse case we can always bring them home in 2 cars! So, are all of you ready?

My OB told me that I should expect to be on hospital bedrest before its over as he expects me to go into labor prematurely at some point & plans to give me drugs to stop it. I am just praying that this labor will not go as it did with my DD because it only lasted 2hrs, with her being born just an hour after we arrived at the hospital. My OB & I are hoping that I will make it to 37wks (Sept 17th) then he will do my c-section. He wouldn't even consider a vaginal birth & since I have read some scary vaginal triplette birth stories online I am not pushing the issue. I am happy that I had at least one unmedicated natural childbirth experiance in my life. I figure now I can relate to mommies with both extreme experiances.

Sorry for the long post. Its just so exciting to share with fellow triplet momma's!

I hope everyone has been doing well.

I had a measurement scan yesterday. I have to wait until next Thursday to discuss the results with my doctor. errrr, hate the wait. The tech to me my cervix length and the weight of the babies. My cervix is 4.3 cm. At 12 weeks it was 5.1. Do you think I should be worried? I haven't had any contractions, that I know of. Do you think it is shortening because of the pressure I have been feeling. I guess I really do need to stay off my feet.

The babies weights at exactly 24 weeks were: 1.69 lbs, 1.56 lbs and 1.44 lbs. The girl is the largest I was not told if this was good or not so I had to google it. I found a couple of websites that said that the average weight for 24 weeks was 1.3 lbs. Babygaga.com said that at 24 weeks the baby weighs 2 lbs. hummmm. Does anyone know what a baby should weigh at 24 weeks. Does anyone know how much their baby weighs? I want to try and get them as big as I can because they will be premature, little micro babies but I am sure at some point it is beyond my control...

I am not a triplet mama, but I just wanted to wish you all the best! My friend has triplets and they were born at 26 weeks and are healthy! Our next trip through IVF (Yes I am already thinking about it even though my first isn't here yet) I think I want to put in more embabies, because it took 5 to get one little guy....I am worried about multiples, but you guys are doing great!!!!

Congrats!

Shelly, I wouldn't worry about your cervical length. My OB told me they don't worry unless it's 2.7 or less. I am having mine measured weekly due to a low lying placenta.

I think your babies' weights look great! They appear to be in the range I see on most websites. I was seeing sites saying 1.25 to 1.5 pounds.

I go this Friday for another measurement of the babies , which will be at 22 weeks and 1 day. I will let you know what they say. At 19 weeks they were 9. 10 and 11oz. If my belly is any indication they have grown a lot since then...

Hope your bedrest is going well. I will be joining you after one more week of work. Didn't quite make it to 23 weeks but it's getting to be a bit too uncomfortable. It's a long trek to the restroom from my desk and I get pretty out of breath sometimes. Will have made it 22 weeks though. I have a sit down job so that made it easier.

How often do you see your perinatologist? I currently see mine every 3 weeks and the OB every week in between (because of the cervical measurements). The peri may want to see me more often after the visit this Friday, we'll see. Just curious how it was working for everyone else.

Melissa, I saw your belly pic and you look great!! What a cute bump you have. It sounds like your babies are growing good. At 20 weeks mine were 9, 11, 12 oz. The biggest is the girl. I get a chuckle out of that. She also has the most room but is the hardest one to see on an u/s. Here face is always turned away. She has a nice spine, that's about all I can say at this point! Keep us posted on how your appointment goes this Friday.

My bedrest really isn't bedrest yet, although I should lay down more than I do. I spent a lot of time reclined in my couch with my laptop. This weekend we almost finished the nursery so I was up checking that out and washing and some baby clothing. DH painted the nursery, renovated the closet so it is open with adjustable shelves and bars. We were so happy that we got all 3 full size cribs in our small room!! yay!! Now that all that is done I am going to rest up quite a bit this week. I got that really heavy feeling back after standing for too long.

I posted pictures of the nursery on another thread if you want to take a peek. Before I knew I was having triplets I joined the Sept due date thread but now I will most likely be having them in Aug..it could be July but I really hope it is not that early.
Sept 2008 - Labor Day, a whole new meaning

I see the perinatologist every 2 weeks. My next appointment is this Thursday. I had to get a 2nd 3 hour blood glucose test done because my first 1 hour test was a bit high. They said my number was 49 and they retest everything over 40. Have you girls had this test? I am a bit worried as I have been eating healthy and doing everything I can to be healthy but I was told I was at a higher risk because of age. gulp!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

johnathan
is weighing in at 1lb 2oz and measuring at 22w 1day

jayson
is weighing in at 1lb 1oz and measuring at 21w 6day

kaylee

my cervix is a nother story
last week u/s said i was dilated and thinned out
and yesterday u/s said it was dilated and long
the dr was waiting for the radiologist to get a look and see which one is correct.
if its dilated and long i might get the cerclage done tomorrow. hopefully that happens.

last night i was feeling a lot of pressure and no contractions. the pressure has stopped.
thanks again for been here for me
