Cathy - I am sooooooo happy that you don't have to worry about GD this pregnancy. I'm sure that it's such a relief.

Renee I'm sorry that your having to wait so long for your next u/s but sounds like everything is going well...

As far as the epidural it is only suppose to numb you from the waist down. You won't be able to walk around once you have it, because you won't be able to feel your legs. A urinary catheter is usually only used as an in and out procedure if your bladder. They want your bladder empty so it's easier for the baby descend through the birth canal. Most women will use the bathroom prior to the epidural if they are able to up walking around.

Well we finally bought our baby furniture this past weekend I will post it once I get this computer situated.

Now our big thing is picking out a name. We have narrowed it down to 2 and I would really like your opinion. So please vote!!

Poll: Talbott baby boy - BabyCenter

I am so happy that everyone is doing well with their pregnancies so far.

I love the giraffe bedding and the top crib by the way!

Oh and my OB told me not to worry about not sleeping on my back until 24-26 weeks. She said and even then unless there is a problem that is compromising the baby's oxygen, she said I'll get to a point that I won't want to sleep on my back. I still make an effort to sleep on my left side as much as possible which can make for some sleepless nights. I did go and buy a Boppy pillow so if I land on my back I'm still slightly on my side. That's what they do in the hospital.

Denise- What a cute profile picture. I love his big belly!

I saw my ob today. The heart beat sounded great and she said I would be fine to travel to Guatemala to pick up our son. Hopefully, we will be leaving sometime in October. I also gained 6 pounds since last month (must be all the chocolate cravings) but only 10 in total. It just feels like so much more because I gained 12 when I cycled. After my appt DH and I went and had his frozen sperm destroyed. He was all sad but I said I don't think his sperm need to come anywhere close to my eggs again since we have 15 frozen embies. Plus, we still have some stored in Denver in case something were to happen to the embroys but still he was a little down.

The lease for my car is up so we are turning it in today and are going to see if we can survive with only one car. I'm not sure how long that will last though. I'm checking out minivans online today.

I voted, congrats on the boy Lauren, Denise nice u/s pics, thinking of all of you. Oh Candice, did you check out the BOB at REI? It is a very awesome stroller. Turns on a dime, literally.

Just popped in to say hi. I had to come home from work today due to severe back pain. I am going to see a orthopedic surgeon in about 1.5 hrs. My ob called in vicodin, which my mom is on the way to pick up.

Hopefully tonight I will be able to rest (I haven't slept well in days because I can't get comfortable). I have tried: prenatal massages (2), acupuncture, physical therapy (for 3 weeks now), hot/cold compresses, warm pool floating/exercising, yoga, light weights, walking, tylenol, praying (and I don't do that often!). I get some relief from some stuff, but it never lasts more than an hour or 2. And when I am back at work, sitting or standing, I am in lots of pain. I also got a new chair for my desk, put a pillow on it, using the yoga ball at my desk, propping my feet up! Argh! My ob sent me home today. She wants me to get an MRI. We'll see what the ortho guy says.

Just chiming in late on the epidural thing. If you want one I wouldn't let the fear of not being able to walk keep you from it. Once you have the baby they turn it off and it wears off semi quickly. I was there for the births of both my nieces and my twin refused to come out of the bathroom with the first one until they gave her the epidural she was in sooo much pain. I remember her going to the bathroom not too late after the birth. They did catheterize her for both, but hey compared to a giant baby coming out of your hoo-haa a little urinary catheterization should be no big deal!

My goodness Jen is all of that pain coming from your SI and sciatic nerve? I've had some pain but man sounds like your suffering pretty bad. I hope that they can figure out something.

Elizabeth - I'm glad to hear that your doing well and you get to go pick your son up. You must be getting excited! Good luck with the car search.

Good morning everyone!

Jen- So sorry to hear about the pain. I hope they can find the problem. It might be the positioning of your uterus or the baby on several nerves including your sciatic. Keep us posted.

Denise- what great ultrasound pictures! There is no doubt he's a boy LOL!

Elizabeth, how exciting that you get to go pick up your baby! You are definitely going to need a minivan, good luck on your search.

Smoothmelo, I like your epidural phiolosophy. But you are right, unless you have a high pain tolerance, don't be afraid to ask for an epidural.

Hope everyone else is having a great Friday!

I am so excited and I wanted to share! I found the stroller I'd been searching for today! Earlier in the week I thought I could get a crazy deal on it, but it didn't end up panning out so then all week I stalked craigslist and ebay searching for a great deal. Well this afternoon I got a call from my dad and he found a brand new craigslist posting for a brand new Mutsy 4Rider in original, unopened boxes in NYC and the lady was selling it for $300 off retail! I snapped it up and hope to see it at my doorstep next Friday or the following Monday/Tuesday! I am so excited that I just can't stop talking about it (and frankly, I think my husband is tired of hearing about it)! YAY!!!!! Hope everyone has a great weekend!
