I thought I would join in with all this excitement. My due date is around Feb 8th from what the IVF due date calculator predicts.

Aside from the usual symptoms of bb's being sore and some abdominal pain, I've been doing pretty good. It makes me nervous at times though.

I've heard nothing but good things about Zofran and will definitely being asking for some if and when I need it.

I don't go for my U/S for another 2 weeks, but can't wait. I will be finding out what we're having for sure.

This is a great thread!

Mandi- Congrats on the Beta! Looks great! I think most of us will be on edge for pretty much 9 months. We can support each other!

Smoothmelo- Great Beta as well!!! Okay, so can you explain how you get toxoplasmosis and what it does? I remember with my first pregnancy they told me not to change our cats litter pan. Ever since then, DH has been doing it. But are there other ways you could catch it aside from the litter box? Because sometimes he doesn't end up finishing his business in the litter box and he'll get some outside which I end up picking up because I just can't leave it (with a papertowel of course).

Emily- that's a great beta. Usually they at least do 2 betas to make sure you're at least doubling. I would ask about that. Are you seeing an Ob or an RE?

Jen, Great that you saw the hearbeat! You're little one is doing great!

Valerie- Good to see the littles ones are growing- and ahead of schedule.

How's everyone else doing- our little group is growing so much, I think I'm having a hard time keeping track! Either that or it's the pregnancy hormones kicking in!

Speaking of which, I have been EXHAUSTED for the past 2 days. I don't know if its from the pregnancy, Heat (we're in a heat wave here in Boston), or if it could have been the fact that I took my daughter fishing for 3 hours on Sunday in 90 degree weather with our Girl Scout troop. I have not an ounce of energy and napped for 3 hours yesterday afternoon.

I'm also getting nauseous when I'm hungry. Once I eat, I'm fine.

Cathy,

I am seeing an OB and she just wanted one beta. They did 3 last time, but decided that one was enough this time. I don't know why, but I keep testing just to make sure that it is still positive! LOL! Then again, I have had no spotting and nausea and sore boobs since before I got my . I am just for a good heartbeat on the 20th!

It is so nice to have all these ladies for support!

Missy, That sounds like a good beta to me. Have you checked out betabase.info? Look at how many days past O you are.

wow this thread does move fast! Kensbaby asked if I am a vet and yes I am. So the cat that has toxoplasmosis was a patient of mine and not my personal pet (who is toxo negative i got to test him myself oh the perks of being a vet!)

Anyhow you had questions about toxo, I will be happy to answer them as best I can. You can get toxo from several ways the most common is eating undercooked meat! The other ways include not washing fruits or veggies that have been exposed to toxo (from cat poop), or gardening and not washing your hands afterwards and ingesting the infective stage. It takes 24-48 hours for the oocysts to mature to the infective stage so if you clean the litterbox daily you should not infect yourself even if you were to ingest the oocysts! But it's always safer to make your husband do it if you can (i make my hubby and my cat is toxo negative hehe!). Of course good hygiene goes a long way.. wash those hands before you eat! I am toxo negative (since I am a vet I was tested prior to ttc to be safe and I was negative!). Toxo in cats rarely causes disease but this cat had the neurological variety and I was worried because I handled the cat often. Deep down in my heart I knew the chances were slim for me to get infected because I am crazy about hand washing especially at work and you have to INGEST the oocysts to get infected! Wow this is long sorry to ramble I just love to talk about my job, I love being a vet! Long story short the cat I was treating keeled over and died today suddenly so we did a necropsy and tested it for rabies to be safe. I found cancer in the intestines and pancreas so I think it had a met that went to the brain and caused the symptoms (not toxo).. but the histopath will tell me for sure.

If anyone ever has any vet questions feel free to ask! I love to ramble as you can tell. Please keep up the symptoms and when they start happening for us new girls it is reassuring to hear. I am tired and a little dizzy/nauseous but I think that's cause I can't sleep well (big worrier).

Missy - I did look at betabase.info and my 19 dpo number is right between day 19 and 20 of the twins median range. I know it isn't really completely telling. but it does make you think. I'm just praying to see a healthy hearbeat on the u/s next Tuesday. I did check the doubling calculator and my numbers are doubling every 29.6 hours. wow!

Welcome Diane! Glad you could join the group.

Have any of you had to take the progesterone oil shots?

Hi ladies....

wow! LOTS of professionals on this thread....proves you CAN have it all.....

I have another beta on Monday....I'm trying hard to not be nervous about the small early number.....I could be a late implanter...who knows....but, the nurse wasn't concerned....so I'm making up my mind to (try) not to be.....my baby needs a calm mommy and not one who's freaking out about the beta number.....

I am a stay at home mom to my wonderful daughter Ella.....she is the light of our lives and absolutely full of energy and keeps me very busy (which I love...)

My hubby is a farmer so I am always running here or there to pick up parts or make phone calls.....pay bills, etc.

We will definately find out what we are having....it was such a joy going through it when I was pregnant with Ella and I'd like to experience knowing what my little bean is again.

Congrats to all you ladies....let us know how the u/s go as you have them....I won't have one for a few weeks yet.....dr. doesn't do them until 8 weeks.

Take care and I'm SO happy to be part of this thread....

Renee

I am just stalking from the Jan board, its a little slow and I like to talk...LOL.

I am a stay at home mom to my wonderful DS, I also watch my niece a few days a week, she is 18 months.

So I do have a very minor vet question....warning....gross.........My dog eats poop, not her own but our other dogs, how can I get her to stop and why is she doing it. Our vet did not seem concerned, said it is her nature, female dogs do it to keep predators away. Ewwwww, I dont want her to kiss anyone. We are like hi, this is Dori, She eats poop so dont let her kiss you...LOL....sorry I warned you it was gross!!!!! I try to keep the yard as clean as I can. She does not show a ton of interest in her food, that is when I know we need to clean up the yard.

I have been so good about not peeing on anything after my beta. And I have a cabinet full of PIACs (pee in a cup...the type that Dr offices use). I literally used over 30 of them in the days leading up to my beta though

Hey Jen! Im just on the other side of the rocky mountains! I could just jet over there and give ya one! LOL Actually pedi's are really safe during pregnancy as long as your tech doesnt massage your achilles tendons. That is supposed to induce labor. We should all get one prior to having a baby because our toes need to look cute for the nurses, right? Haha thats what my prego clients tell me.
