Who else is still waiting from the Feb. group? It seems like everyone has delivered early/already and I'm the lone last one still waiting. I don't think I'm alone...there have to be others with me!

i am still here anxiously awaiting and uncomfortable
i go for antoher ultrasound, stress test, and intermal tomorrow.
i waddle, i have heartburn bad, i can't sleep, and i have a hemroid.
i am so jealous of those blissful pregnancies

Good to hear from you Jaime! Your time is coming and it will all be worth it.

I've never used the breast pump you mentioned. I have the Medela Pump In Style from when I had DD like 8 years ago.

Elizabeth, let me know if Calvin's birth date is wrong. What I gather from your post is that you went in on 1/29 and weren't induced until 11 pm. So I'm thinking that you delivered Calvin at 1 in the morning on 1/30? You had said pm so just want to make sure.

Hey

Sorry its been a while. It's been a little rough starting out. We've had company with us non stop and Nicholas lost too much weight and developed jaundice. He was on a bili bed at home here where he could only come off for 30 minutes at a time. My breastfeeding came to a screaching halt so I was pumping and supplementing with formula. Now he doesn't want to latch on since he's had the bottle but I'm still trying! He's off the bed and I'm hoping things calm down some. My DH has gone back to work and he's super tired and so am I. I just have to say the first 48 hours Nicholas did nothing but scream because he was starving. I wish I would have known!
I will hopefully be able to post his birth story and pics sometime next week when my company leaves!

Congrats to all of you who have delivered. I'll hopefully be able to catch up soon.

I am still hanging in here and doing well overall. No major complaints...just some lower back aches and pains. There was a time when I had difficulty sleeping, but that has since improved. I am just growing more impatient by the day. This is my first week off work...I don't do well sitting idly. Today I packed our bag for the Birth Center and yesterday I had a prenatal appointment, car seate check and chiropractic adjustment. The baby is currently sitting "sunny side up" and could use a little flip. I am spending some time on my hands and knees doing pelvic rocks as suggested and I hope it helps. Thats my current update...lots of people are thinking we'll deliver next week. I'm nervous and scared but want to get this show on the road!

Sorry to hear you're so uncomfortable Jamie. My sister had one of those "blissful" pregnancies...she always says "I could have been pregnant for another month!" and she was nearly 2 weeks overdue!

Denise- I know what you mean Its been hard. We are so tired too. Maddix has some Jaundice and at first lost weight then my milk came in and its been ok. I started pumping too b/c I felt like a horrible mother b/c I would bf him and for 3 nights he was restless. Then I gave him a bottle and my poor boy ate 3 1/2oz and fell asleep like a dish rag. I felt so bad. We are learning I try mot to be too hard on myself. Take care everyone.

Denise, I know what you're going through. The two weeks home for me were horrible for rest- I have a ton of family and friends who are local. You just have to deny people or give them a time frame. I find that eating well helps relieve some of the stress so make sure you are taking time to eat and drink tons, it really makes a difference. Also, if you're having company during the day, make it a point to go to bed early, like 7 or 8 pm. I know he's feeding frequently, but an extra 2 hours gives you more energy during the day.


Daniel had jaundice too while in the NICU and had to go under the lights. His bili was as high as 12 at one point. The 30 minutes out was hard because I had to squeeze in the BFing and then get him back in. The pictures I have from that were so cute because he had to wear those goggle things to protect his eyes. It killed me too because I wanted to hold him longer than 30 minutes. That lasted a long 2 days.

Don't stress about the bottle feeding vs BFing. You're doing the best you can and learning too! I had to supplement in the beginning too. Hang in there. One trick I learned in the NICU was to hold him away when feeding a bottle. In other words, hold him perpedicular in my lap, feet towards my body, head away and cradled in one hand, bottle in the other hand. Then regular cradle position, close to your body when BFing. Also my bbs were KILLING me the first 2 weeks- one side more than the other- to the point of tears every time he latched on, and that got better too.

Get some rest and we look forward to hearing your story and seeing pics (no rush though!).

Elizabeth, I thought he was born on the 30th, just wanted to make sure.

Candice- Your time is coming too and it sounds like you are totally prepared and ready! Are you dilated at all? Daniel was sunny side up at one point and my OB had me change positions and he flipped so I believe those exercises could work! Keep us posted.

Well as for me Daniel is 1 month today and I can't believe how fast it has gone. We had our pedi appt yesterday and he has gained 3 pounds in a month and grew 2 inches! He is a pork chop- still feeding about every 2-1/2 hours from start to finish! I actually got almost a 4 hour stretch of sleep last night! My pedi says that during their 2nd month, they take one longer stretch at night and I "think" this is it.

So now he is 8 pounds 7 ounces and 20 inches long. More alert and awake during the day, looking around. I tried to make him laugh yesterday and was "almost" successful.

For those of you with boys, have you been "peed" on yet? I got peed on twice this morning! I caught the first one with my hand, thought I took care of it, but as soon as I went to switch the diaper, he went again- everywhere! It was like he intentionally waited for me to let down my guard. It was comical but took me by surprise at 6:30 in the morning.
