Candice, I love those pictures. I haven't had anything professional done, and now I want to!
Elizabeth- Love your pictures too! All your boys are adorable. I think your house just went from busy to crazy busy now! It's all good though! Denise, Jen, and everyone else with the spit up issues, I'm going through the same thing. Daniel spits up a ton after each feeding. He also has had a TON of gas where he is constantly pushing, sometimes he spits up as a result of that and has even had it shoot through his nose! I try to keep him upright as much as possible but he still spits up. I think I go through 2 burp cloths at each feeding. Jen, with the burping, I find that sometimes I"m burping him for like 5-10 minutes at least until I get a burp. Just when I'm about to give up, he burps and of course spits up. Hiccups- Daniel is still getting lots of hiccups too, especially after spitting up. Newborn acne- anyone going through this? Daniel had it really bad and now his face is peeling especially the corners of his eyes near his temples. Just a thought for those of you with swallowing issues- is your baby tongue tied at all? i think that can contribute. Daniel was tongued tied and we had his frenulum snipped.

Wyatt gets the hiccups and it bothers me so much And he has some baby acne too. he is also flaking near his eyes.Melanie-sorry Maddix has colic and reflux poor baby. do you hold him upright after feeding?Today we went to BRU. Wyatt decided it was mealtime and started to scream. I got to utilize the mommy lounge. the had 2 diaper stations with diapers and wipes, 2 couches and 2 gliders. it was awesome. I could spend lots of time in BRU!!!

Hi girls! Sorry I've been mia over the last couple of weeks. I've been trying to keep up with everyone though!
Taylor is such a good little girl! She sleeps and eats well and has gained about 10 ounces over the past week. She does get the hiccups too about every other time she gets a bottle. It doesn't seem to bother her though. Her umbilical cord finally fell off this morning. My son's fell off in the hospital, so that was all new to me! Now I can give her baths! I hope everyone is adjusting to being a mommy! I love doing this all over again ![]()

Maddix gets the hiccups too. The MD said to give him milacon(Spelling) drops or water. He hates his hiccups b/c they last for about 10min.
I just started the oatmeal 3 feedings ago so hopefully fussy baby will get better.

It sounds like most of our LO's are at the age where some issues are developing.
I'm sorry to hear that Maddix is suffering from colic and reflux. I've ended up switching to the playtex vented bottles that have an angle that way I can feed him in more of a sitting up position. We've tried 4 different bottles and I'm sticking with this one. He still has feedings where he is gulping air......and he develops a lot of gas too. Last night he spent the night pushing and grunting. I didn't get much rest because of it. I use the gripe water for hiccups works like a charm. I don't even give him a full dose jut half and within seconds their gone. I've had Nicholas spit up through his nose too Cathy....stinks for them. I too keep him upright after his feedings. The peds thinks it could be reflux but we are going to wait before starting him on meds. Nicholas also has some dry skin above his eyes....I think it just takes time to go away. His scalp is dry too........I only wash it with soap once a week! I hope that everyone else is hanging in there.....I'm finally getting 3 hours of sleep for the first stretch!

Thanks Jen! I'll try sending to you. Maybe you can figure it out?
Denise, I'm glad you found a bottle that worked. And YAY! You got your first 3 hour stretch- isn't it crazy how you feel kind of "refreshed" after only 3 hours? LOL! Wait til you get your 5 hour one! I'm glad we're all going through this together. I know we're definetly not complaining but it's good to have people to talk to who are going through the same things. As for Daniel, his acne is definitely starting to get better at 8 weeks. I've been washing his face once a day and then while wet, apply Cetaphil lightly to all his dry skin areas and it's working. He also has a touch of cradle cap and I've been bathing him once every 2 days with just light baby shampoo. Right after I dry it with a towel by ruffling up his hair to lift up some of the skin and then comb out. I've been doing this for about 3 washes and it seems to be working. He is awake and alert for longer periods now. I can't believe how big (and FAT) he's getting. I haven't re-introduced the bottle yet but I'm starting to pump. I restarted my transcription job last week (that was a challenge but at least I'm home) and I do home parties which I have one this Friday night which is an hour away so DH has to give him 1-2 feedings while I'm gone. Sooo, we will be introducing the bottle either today or tomorrow. Any tips on when to pump, how often to pump, etc. would be appreciated! Wish me luck!

Jen, I LOVE BRU! And any other baby friendly places. Maybe we should start a list? I'm definitely not comfortable BFing in public, so I like to look for places where there there is a lounge and/or privacy.

I was totally thinking the same thing... a list of BF friendly places! I had a better night with Wyatt last night, mostly due to holding him upright after feeding. But he eats so much and so long on the breast and he is now into spitting up Ugh! The baby acne sucks. The books say to just wash his face with water 2-3x a day. I try to wipe it after feedings with a wet cloth. Not always easy. Melanie-I thought you weren't supposed to introduce solids until 4-6 months? How is Maddix doing with it? I tried Gax-X (same stuff as Milacon) 1x and I didn't see much of a difference. I am going to try that gripe water. Can we give them actual water? If so, how much???

I know that with severe reflux they will have you add cereal so it stays down or that's the theory behind it.
Nicholas has dry skin on his scalp near the front and a little on the top is that cradle cap? He gets a bath every night but we only wash his hair a couple of times a week. Nicholas now weighs 10 lbs I can't believe it. He had some projectile vomiting this morning he got me right in the face and on my chest I wasn't expecting that! Anyone experiencing a witching hour? I think in the evenings is when we start to have our problems! Jen I'm glad this are getting better BF is very hard. I would feed Nicholas for close to an hour and then still have to give him a bottle so I just physically couldn't do it anymore I wasn't getting any sleep at all! I give him B milk all day and then he gets 2 bottles of formulas at night! He slept 5 hours last night but I was up after 3 expecting him to wake up. CRAZY! Hopefully he'll sleep like that from now on!

witching hour? more like several hours!!! always in the evenings and always when we are about to eat dinner... the only way to stop the screaming is to put him on the breast.
I am hungry all the time. All i do is eat, feed Wyatt, change diapers... but i love it! ![]()

Denise- 10 pounds! He's doing great! Yes, I believe if you get the persistent flaking it's cradle cap. Daniels is mild too. He doesn't have it on the back of his head, just the front near his forehead and sides. He had one day where it was the very top of his head but that's resolved now.
Gotta love the projectile vomiting. I would have Daniel up on my shoulder and it would shoot back and splat on the floor, or if he has his head turned towards me on my shoulder he would shoot it right down my shirt! I'm with Jen, witching hour a few times a day. Not really at night for me though- but definitely any time I want to eat or trying to get things done. Jen, I'm STARVING all the time. I feel the same way, constantly feeding and changing diapers. I'm trying to multitask now to get more done, BFing and typing with one hand! ![]()
