Natasha, sorry you're going through this. I'm definitely not a doc but I disagree with your doc about seeing something at 5 weeks. I think it's too early to see even the sac (in most cases). When I asked my ultrasonographer if she would do one at 5 weeks she said no because there was a good chance we would not see anything. She said you have a better chance at 6 or 7 weeks to at least see the sac and possibly not even the heartbeat or anything else. Will pray that everything turns out okay for you.

What wonderful news! I find it hard to believe they used the wrong ultrasound on you! I'm sorry, but that is just incompetent!!

Jen - What a great ultasound! I can make out tiny arms and legs! You must be sooo excited.

I love hot dogs and plan to have one Friday myself. What's 4th of July without a hotdog? Oh and I also just have to have a diet coke every now and then.

Good morning,

Once again I'm playing catch up on here.

Jen great USD pic!!

Natasha hang in there it's still early.

I decided not to get my hair done after all. I called my OB and they suggest you wait until your second trimester.

I'm definitely going to ask my OB today about my migraines. I won't be leaving the office without a prescription.

Please keep Missy in your thoughts and during this difficult time. I am so sad for her.

I too am going to eat a hot dog on Friday. I've already had one too.

Good morning all!

Natasha -My RE won't do a u/s until 6.5 weeks b/c he says anything you see can be inconclusive until that point, so don't worry.

Jen - Beautiful u/s picture, that is so great! I have also eaten a couple of hotdogs, but the organic kind a keep frozen at home, what is supposed to be bad about hotdogs anyway? Is it the nitrates?

Denise - I hope you can figure out a cure for those migraines. Ouch!

Missy - We are for you as you go through this difficult time.

Hey ladies thanks for all the positivity, I need that.
I am now craving a Hotdog, what is July 4th without hotdogs.
I was also told not to get my hair done. Said that highlights were okay because it doesn't touch the skin. So I guess I will have to go a while with my gray showing. I was also warned about products not to use like my facial wash, face creams, lotions and others. Anything that contains vitamin A ( in any forms of retinoid) vitamin K, Beta-hydroxy acid, salicylic acid, Chemical peels, benzoyl peroxide and tooth whitening toothpastes.Even makeup, I had the ingredients checked out. As they soak into your skin and into the bloodstream. I got this from my pregnancy book and my RE told me about it. Just thought I would share with ya'll.
I also heard from my Re office this morning, my Beta was 4250 and p4 45. Said they were happy with those numbers. Said the Hcg shot I had Friday would have been out of my system enough for that to be an accurate reading. But since my cramping increases the closer I get to my next Hcg shot I may need to get them 3 times a week instead of 2times.
On a lighter note anyone have fun July 4th plans? We are going to dinner on the beach with family and friends then watch fireworks on the beach. Then cookout by the pool Saturday. My mom will be there to help me out since My RE told be to take it easy and not do much.

Migranes, I get those too. At first I was told to take Tylenol, What are you kidding me Tylenol that won't even touch my migrane. I haven't had any bad ones yet, but my last pregnancy I used something called Esgic Plus, minus the caffiene, it is a perscription. They worked good, I also use a natural peppermint stick I got from Scent of America website, they are cheap. it is a Natural Headache relief stick. I love these. Of course I know everyones migranes are different, but thought I would let you know.

I have to work all weekend, but on a positive note we are going over to some friends of ours for cook out and then fireworks after on Friday.

I sure hope that people go away this weekend and stay out of trouble. Every holiday weekend I work it's a zoo.........and we tend to have more trauma's than usual which can be very sad!!

i had another scare last night ... is anyone on the Vivelle patch? -- i took off my patch last night and i started to cramp right below where i had the patch and then had cramping for about 3 hours with reddish brown blood. it has stopped and i know that they told me the suppositiories are irritating my cervix, but i thought it was weird that i had cramping right below where the patch had been that day. any thoughts?
