Processed Foods

I've been doing a lot of research online and I've been seeing more and more information popping up about processed foods and it's effect on fertility and ovulation patterns.

We went to the store tonight and I've decided no more eating out unless it's salad. Light dressings etc.

We bought apples, and unfrosted cheerios, and grapes and baby carrots for breakfast and snacks etc. The only one thing I allowed myself as "processed" is popcorn. =) I need to start eating better, and not grabbing a breakfast burrito and milk from QT for breakfast, and eating out for lunch every day and sitting at my desk on my butt blah blah blah... I am willing to try anything at this point.

I hope it helps.. is anyone else doing this?

My nutritionist said the same thing. As a result, I've become a Trader Joe's Junkie!

I think processed foods harm us in more ways than we know. It is best to avoid them. I am also trying to eat organic whenever possible.

Too strange- I was just thinking about this last night.
Went out to Flatbread Pizza last night for friend's bday- all organic pizza...and, I didn't get heartburn! I always get heartburn when I eat pizza..

what specifically did the article say about processed food and IF??

I've heard plenty on this. But it seems to be hit and miss. So I've just stuck to my normal eating habits. I don't eat unhealthy (for the most part) anyway but occasionally I love my buttered popcorn and such. I am cheap so I don't eat out unless I have to so it's lots of lean protein and veggies for me.

eating to help conception

Hi,

I just wanted to post a few things I learned from a dr. I've been seeing who keeps current on the worldly research done on infertility.

He just found out recently that low fat dairy is bad for ovarian function. He told me to eat 1 serving of high fat dairy per day. He also said that processed starches are bad to eat as well.

I have been trying for 6 years and my husband and I have been trying other things besides ivf and traditional fertility treatments for awhile to see if that works.

I hope this helps!

Alicia

I eat quite a fair bit of processed food and pre-packaged food, maybe I should cut down on it, but it's so convenient for me :P

Processed food while conveniet is loaded with preservatives that are so bad for you. I always try to pick foods with ingredients that I can pronounce.

Thumbs up

My proplem is fibroids. Seems that the hormones in meat and diary are making my firbroids grow rapidly......and right in the middle of my uterous! So we have gone organic.

Too many things we eat are pumped with hormones that effect our body. Also the soil is traeted with another host of chemicals.

So we are on the organic mission. Whole Foods and Trader Joes
