Angry Emergency Surgery due to Ectopic!!! Yikes!

Had a rough week this week. I had a suspected ectopic and got my metho shot last Thursday. Told my RE last Friday I had back pain. Called Monday and told the nurse I had some cramping. By Tuesday night I was running a slight fever (only 99.6) and had worse cramping. This was at 9:00 pm. Paged my doc and he told me to go to bed and call in the morning...hey thanks. By midnight I was in the ER. You know they ask you your pain level, 1-10, never has this happened but it was a 10. Most painful experience of my life. By 5:00 AM I was in emergency surgery. They removed almost 2 liters of blood from my uterus. They found the fetus in my tube, which was partially ruptured. Thanks goodness they saved my tube. So now I am home recovering...which is not fun. These incisions hurt and itch and I feel like this is going to be a long road to feeling back to normal.

My RE doc has called every day...I'm sure because he feels like an idiot telling me to go to bed and then I end up in the ER two hours later. I feel like this whole situation has been running my life for the past month. Whenever I think things can't get worse they do...hopefully I'm at rock bottom now, and things can only look upward!

Just wanted to share my story...I know some of you will understand what this is like to go thru.

I'm sorry you went through that. I also went through that in March. They took five litres of blood from my abdomen. It was the most frigtening experience I have ever had. I went into the hospital at 7:30 am and was in surgery by 1 that afternoon.

The road to recovery is a hard one, that is for sure!! I feel for you!!

I'm also very sorry to hear of your loss!

I have heard of this happening and I'm so sorry you experienced it. But what a blessing that they caught it in time to save your tube. Rest up, heal up and start back slowly.

Jamie - I'm so sorry about your ruptured ectopic. I know it feels like it's going to be forever to heal from this, but you'll get through it. Just take one day at a time, and be sure to give yourself the time you need to heal - both physically and emotionally. -Bethany

Oh Jamie, I can't believe that you have had to deal with all of this. I really hope that your recovery is quick and this is the last bad thing to happen. Take care.

Angry

That Doctor is a total idiot. Yeah, he should feel bad. Not only is this so emotionally hard, now you have physically hard too when it didn't have to be that way. Sometimes I don't think doctors know what they are talking about!

Sorry for my crazy outburst, I just hate it when one of my people gets messed with.

We miss you and hope you feel better (physically and mentally) soon!

Heart Eptopic

Well Hi, I am Alive2008. I chose that because in June 2008 I was experiencing severe pains and it had started 2days earlier and then stopped but this one day I couldnt take it anymore. I thought it was just bad period cramps or something. My husband rushed me to the hospital and after waiting forever in the emergency room they told me I was pregnant. Me and my husband were excited bcause we thought i couldnt bare child cause we tried for 3yrs. To shorten it They did a sonogrm and told me i had to have emergency surgery to have the baby removed. They only removed to portion that the baby was in not the whole tube. So I sympothize 4U Bcause I know where ur coming from!!!!
