I am doing research for an article in an anatomy class I'm taking. I was shocked to see an article in Discover Magazine about ectopic pregnancy. When I was experiencing my own ectopic, my doctor didn't really want to discuss anything with me. He only wanted to give me lots of Methotrexate. I wish I had read this article a while ago...not a few minutes ago.

I think it's natural to wish you had more information rather than being left in the dark and having medicine thrown at you.

I can just imagine the pain of finding out your pregnancy isn't (in the right place)....and how you have to take a medicine to make it all go away(it was hard enough for me to take the provera when my doctor cancelled my cycle, knowing it was erasing my chances of conceiving this month...I can't even imagine what it would be liek to have to terminate your pregnancy. Maybe it would have brought more comfort if the doctors would have explained in detail the reasons why they had to terminate her pregnancy, to prevent her from bleeding out, and also the possible risk of loosing her tube.

I think it does help us to be infromed and who would rather be infromed before or during a difficult time like that....verses after the fact.

i was just wondering b/c i too just had an ectopic and also had the methotrexate. i totally understand that wanting more info is natural, i know i did.
