Update-appt w/ RE

So today is 2 weeks since I had been diagnosed with the ectopic pg, 13 days since the emergency surgery. DH and I went to our RE for a 'regroup meeting'. Apparently I am to expect AF soon, within the next week or 2, and she should be a doozy! Well, I was told that with my last 2 m/c's (although they both implanted in the uterus) and AF wasn't much worse than any other cycle. Also, after I get AF I am to call to schedule my HSG to make sure my right tube is open. Unfortunately, as I NEED to know why all this has happened, he had no info to give us. DH and I feel very unlucky- we are... as I have no factors to have had an ectopic and they can't figure out why I m/c the other times. When they did the surgery, the Ob/gyn who did it took pictures and showed them to me. There was no sign of endo anywhere and both my ovaries, right tube, and uterus looked great.

So now we were told that we could still get pregnant if I ovulate from the left- there is a 20-25% chance that the right tube can pick up the egg. We have to wait until I get AF, get my HSG, then have 1 normal cycle. So on the 3rd AF we can try again. RE wants us to do clomid again since it worked. If I have follies on the left, timed intercourse. If I have follies on the right, IUI. Right now, both DH and I would like to try naturally, but monitored. I would like to see that I can ovulate w/o clomid. I have never had an issue- I have a 27-29 day cycle-like clockwork (except the last few times on clomid I was 24-25 days). I just want to see the follies and follow them w/o the drugs. I think that is what the plan will be, but then again, this will be in 2 months.

Oh yeah, I really, really, really wanted to get off the iron pills because I am seriously constipated, so they pricked my finger to do a iron test. It was 8.9- they wanted it to be above 10. So, 2 iron pills a day for at least another week. Crap (or not so much as in my case!)!

I have a Ob/gyn appt on Wednesday to check my incisions/regroup. DH really doesn't like our RE so maybe my Ob/gyn can do the monitoring for our next cycle when we are back. Maybe she can even do the HSG...

Thanks for listening. Without you girls (and DH), I don't think I could have made it through all this...

I'm sorry you don't have any answers for your miscarriages and this ectopic. My OB also sees no reason why I had an ectopic especially since I had an HSG about a year ago and it was so clear and open the RE was amazed. Keep your chin up and keep trying. You'll get your baby soon!

Oh yeah, and my MIL just dropped the bomb (after being at my house for the past week) that DH's cousin is pg with #3-due in November! AND they only have a 2 bedroom house!!! And, the parents can't control the 2 they have. AND, the mother is just not emotionally stable!!!

Life can be so unfair. Still, I am happy for her cause I do love her-she is a good hearted person...

Jen I'm sorry that your trip to the RE's office wasn't as informative as you would have liked. Sorry to sit out 3 cycles, sometimes we are just ready to get going again. I'm hoping that your next cycle is the one, after your body is healed of course. We are here for you always, along with your DH. Keep us posted on your journey, we support you in whatever you and DH chose. Keep your head up. Hugs!

Jen, my trip to the RE was much the same after my ectopic as far as them having no reason for it. It stinks. I'm sorry. I'll be praying that you ovulate from your left & get pregnant.

As for the iron, my dr told me to take an otc stool softener when i had issues before. And i was told i could take it after ER during my ivf cycle. It helps everything move...

Oh, if there is one thing I remember, it is 2 weeks ago Wed. when my ob/gyn/surgeon came in to check up on me and give me prescriptions. She told me to take the iron and to make sure I got a stool softener or I would HATE her. I take both iron and the stool softener, 1 in AM, 1 in PM. I have also started other means...suppositories. BUT I AM STILL BLOCKED! I feel like I am going to explode!

Oh, and Cat...please pray that I ovulate from the right and get pg . It was my left tube I lost...

sorry Jen, I read your whole post and then when i was replying went to make sure that i found the right tube to type and found this line "So now we were told that we could still get pregnant if I ovulate from the left" and figured left was good. I actually also lost my left, so I've got it straight now. Sending up prayers for your right tube to be lucky one to get you preggo!

As for the other stuff- have you tried having a cup of coffee? You're no longer on caffeine restrictions since you can't ttc anyways...

hmmm coffee. Problem is, even when I have gone to Starbucks recently the only thing that can come out of my mouth is Decaf!!! I am terrified to get addicted to caffiene again since when I went off it I got such bad headaches.

But, I am going to the Dr. in about an hour so hopefully she will give me something else to try! Ugh, my stomach feels like its bruised all over cause of impactation!!!

Thanks for my right tube prayers. Also, thanks for being pg and giving me hope!!!
