Went to see RE today.

I went to See RE today in Missouri just to find out what he had to say. He would not talk to me about embryo donation he just quickly said he did not do that and changed the subject. But he was all for me trying IVF again until I showed him my pics of my embabies from a previous cylcle using my own eggs and he was shocked at how poor quaility they were especially coz I'm only 29! He then talked to me about egg donation but my heart says that I should go with embryo adoption. So I'm will be calling around more places and looking out of state, Iowa looks hopeful and only a 4 hr drive away. Can anyone give me details of whats envoled in a EA cycle, do you take lupron or repronex? Do you have to take the pill? Is the treatment as involved as an IVF cycle?

Thank you for all the sugestions you gave in in my last post. I am very happy to have found this web site, with people who understand.

It is the same that they do for a frozen embryo transfer.

So you probably still have lupron to keep things calm. And they use birth control if you don't cycle normally, so they can control when your cycle starts. You will use some kind of progesterone. Things like that. Just not the egg stimulating drugs.

KES,
I'm curious who you go to that would not even discuss this option with you. My husband and I are thinking about this. We have had 1 failed IVF. We pay out of pocket so the cost difference is a huge factor.

Finding a donor clinic:

To find a clinic in your area that handles Donor Embryos, click here: SART - Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology and enter your zipcode. Click on a clinic name and then click to view their ART data report. At the bottom of the report, it will tell you if they work with Donor Embryos or not. Of these clinics, some have their own in-house supply of Embryos and some require that you locate your own elsewhere and then have them shipped to the clinic. Contact each clinic for details on which options they offer.

Sometimes clinics will work with donor embryos, even if they don't have an in-house program. So you can still contact clinics in that list and double check. A quick phone call is worth a lot.

In addition, please be sure to ask who they use for Cryogenic storage etc. Many clinics who do not have a program, refer their clients to the cryogenics places, as many cryogenics places DO have their own donor embryo programs.
