How do you know when its time for another LAP?

I was diagnosed with Endo 2 yrs ago. I had a LAP done in December of 2002. I have symptoms are coming back worse and worse every month. My husband and I are currently undergoing infertility treatments. I was on Gonal F a month ago and had to take one month off due to 4 cysts. I don't know how much more I can take. Who has had more than one LAP? How did you know it was time to go for another one?

Thanks

I have found that more you have the wrost things get. I too am starting to try to get PG but my chose is IVF or Adopting. IVF is about a 25% chance of working. My f-tubs are turned and "tied Like". I know I am tired too.

Karen,
That is a hard decision. What does your doc say? Just remember that with each surgery you create more scar tissue, therefore creating more problem. A lap may have short term relief, but usually not long term. My first was 17 years ago back when they did open laps - you want to talk about scar tissue! Hang in there. Make your decisions from your heart.

I contact my doctor yesterday and he is out of town this whole week. The other doctor that called me back said that she was scheduling me with the surgeon that performed my last LAP next week for a consultation. I did ask her if I could come in and see just a doctor and she did flat out tell me "No".

Who knows....? There is so much that is unknown about Endometriosis. It is hard to say what to do and what not to. I am going to bring up the scaring issue with the surgeon next week though.

Thanks for your response!

There's still hope...

Hi... Just wanted to let you know that my sis had 2 LAP's for endo (pretty severe), 4 and 3 years ago. She now has a 19 month old daughter and a newborn son. (She thought she had little chance of ever becoming pregnant.) Anyway, just wanted to share that there is still a chance for PG. Best of luck.
