Unhappy painful intercorse

Hello to all. 3 years ago i was told I had PID , pelvic inflamatory disease. But they told me they treated it. Now everytime my husband and I go to make love, I shy away because I know the pain will be gut renching. I went to my obgyn and she said she feels I have endometriosis. My periods are regular, I bleed pretty heavy for a few days but then normal, i have pretty bad cramps but I can still function. The worst part is having to push my husband away because of this pain, is this part of endo? I am waiting to be tested this week. I just would like to know if anyone else has had symptoms like this ? To top it off, I am not sure how long I have had this , I fear i will not be able to have a child , are the chances still good if you have endo?
Any advice at all would help.
Thanks god bless

I'm sorry but I don't know much about it. I just wanted to tell you that I know a girl that had it and she had a baby. I think it just depends on how bad you have it....She never said anything about it being painful to make love.
Sorry I was not any help. Good luck and let us know how the Dco app. goes.

I have had two surgeries for endo and I can tell you intercourse is quite painful. I also have regular periods and just a day or two of really heavy bleeding. If you want more info please pm me and I will be happy to answer any questions.

I'm another one who has endo. I have had 3 laps to remove it and have done 6 months of lupron injections. Sex is very painful for me and is definitely one of the signs/symptoms of endo. Unfortunantly, for us we have had to deal with IF with no success so we have moved onto adoption. However, please keep in mind that every person is different. I know several people with endo who have conceived on their own with no problems and some who conceived with IUI and IVF.

HELLO!

I'm sorry to hear about the pain you're going thru; I know it's tough, trust me. It definitely sounds like endo; but after your testing this week you'll have some answers.
I have endo and have suffered with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) for years. I didn't know what I had either; unfortunately it is still SO under-diagnosed. Most docs don't know what to look for and it's usually a last resort. I've been two several different ob's; and 2 fertility docs. While my infertility has been diagnosed and attributed mildly to the endo/PCOS, I was told we may never know the 'real' reason I cannot carry to term. After 1 miscarriage and 5 subsequent years of extensive medications and fertility treatments--I've had 4 failed IUI's and super-stim cycles (same as IVF treatments w/out the actual IVF procedure at the end), all failed. I have moved on and made peace with myself, but know that everyone is different. Something that really gave me closure was the HSG (?) exam--before the lap. They actually flush your tubs and inflate your uterus and all that to be sure that everything is 'functioning' as it should. And it's all right there on the screen-so there's no waiting for results. Good luck on your lap, too. Will say a prayer for you to be comforted. I've been there; I know. There is always hope to conceive. There are so many different meds, procedures, and combinations nowadays. The trick is finding the combo that works for you. I went until I completely maxed out the dosages allowed~not fun--but again, at least I had closure. You have to do what's right for you & your body.
