Menstrual Cup, anyone used one?

Hi there,
I had been recommended using a menstrual cup (Diva cup etc...) by a naturopath instead of tampons. She had indicated that this was a good thing for endo to help prevent blockage of the flow during AF.
Just wondering if anyone has tried one? been receommended using one?

I didn't use the Diva Cup, but I used the Instead Soft Cups (you can buy them at Target). They are a little messy and at first take a little bit to get used to, but if you "practice" on low flow days it's a lot better.
This website will show you a video demo.... Menstrual Cups, Period Products, Feminine & Menstruation Products - Instead Softcup

I also used them when TTC. I would insert them right after BD (as DH was exiting) and then would get up and go about my business (didn't lay there for 30 min with hips elevated). You can then leave it in for 2-4 hours...it helps to keep the sperm close to your cervix since the cup hugs around it. I also used DS and would put Pre-Seed in the cup then the DS and insert. Personally...if I did an IUI I would insert one when the doctor leaves the room

When you go to take it out...it's best to lean forward and bare down because it'll push your cervix lower and will be easier to hook your finger on the band.

I’ve used the instead cup also. My only problem with it was that I thought it was a bit too wide, I would just love it if they cut the size by ¼ or ½.

I use the Diva Cup and love it. i bought it at Whole Foods. It is reusable (I boil it in a water with a bit of bleach between cycles).

It did take a cycle or two to get used to and I used a pad as back up. But now that I have it down it is wonderful!! I can leave it in up to 12 hours. I can put it in the day I am supposed to get my period - whether I have my period or not.

I read a lot on this site: Menstrual Cups - Keeper, Divacup, Mooncup, Instead, Lunette

If you do try it, don't get discouraged if the first couple of periods aren't successful. It takes time. I almost gave up, but now I am glad I persisted.

Feel free to ask any questions!
