Bleeding with urination from endo???

Hello, I am new to this board and I am so grateful that I found it. I was told I have endometriosis from an MRI that I had done and have been worked up for infertilty starting 6 months ago. I have endometrioma's on my ovaries but no one has suggested to have them removed. I feel like the endo is everywhere. Right before and during my period, I have major GI issues every month (bloating, pain- finally decided to take Vicodin) and recently (last 3 months) I have noticed that I am bleeding with urination...a lot. I am almost positive it is not a kidney infection because I have experienced that in the past and this is nothing like that. I have reading up on endo invading the bladder and causing this symptom so I was wondering if anyone has experienced this or know anything about it??

That sounds painful. Have you asked your doctor about the bleeding? Normally, they can't diagnose endo without doing a laparoscopy. I had one in March and my RE removed the endo from my uterus, ovaries and blader. So, yes, it's possible to have it on your bladder, but I don't know about the bleeding. If you haven't done so, you should definitely let your doctor know about the blood. Welcome to the forum!

Hello, I was also diagnosed with endo about 6 months ago. My doctor did an ultrasound and found an endometrioma on my left ovary. She suggested I should have it removed thru lap surgery. Then I went to RE for a second opinion. She said, that if you have endometrioma, it means that your endometriosis is pretty extensive and that it mihght cover the uterus, bladder and tubes as well. She also suggested that if I want to get pregnant, I do need to have lap surgery. Well, I am really scared of surgery. Right now I am going for a HSG test this Wednsday to see if my tubes are open. IF they are, she wants to try a few rounds of IUI with Femara. But if my tubes are blocked, I probably should consider surgery, although I don;t think surgery can unblock your tubes. Have you been trying to get pregnant for a while?

Thanks for your input and the warm welcome! I did see my PCP today and he sent me for blood work and a ct scan of my pelvis and abdomen to look at my kidneys. I have a feeling that I may need a lap but my gyno said that it may cause more harm than good for trying to get pregnant because of all the scar tissue it may cause but I have heard from many people that they have gotten pregnant after the lap very quickly. I have been struggling with infertility for 2 years and finally decided, this month,to go through a round of HCG inj with IUI, and now this happens!!!So discouraging.

melshane,

I was worried about the surgery too, especially since I had no symptoms and didn't want to risk the dr. messing something up that was perfectly fine to begin with. I don't think scar tissue is an issue with this type of procedure as it is minimally invasive. It probably depends on how extensive the endo is, and in that case it needs to be removed anyway. The worst part is before the surgery, b/c you expect the worst I think. It took about 3 days to recover, just keep up on the pain meds and you will do great! Good luck
