How soon?
I am having laparoscopy on Dec.30 and we are having our post-op consult a few weeks later. If the endo is mild, like I am assuming it is, we would like to pursue IUI asap. For those of you that have had lap, how long did you wait to do a treatment after surgery?

Some RE’s wait one cycle some start at the next cycle. The RE’s at my clinic are split so I got advice from both sides, I found it funny. I ended up waiting one cycle because I could not get into my RE in time. I believe the goal for them all is to have you pregnant in the first 6 months post Lap because that is the most fertile time.

Me 34 - PCOS DH 39 - Ct(110 ml), but still mot and morp issues  TTC 4+ years 2 year wait to see RE than RE takes 5 months off! 10/07-6/08- 6 rounds Clomid = BFN RE May 08 = waiting for DH appt. at to see if sperm will respond properly to “fallopian tube environment” – July 08 Passed! 5/08 Testing for Lymphoma- Negative!!! I just have Sarcoidosis. 8/08 Hysteroscopy and Lap removed polyp from uterus and adhesions to ovary and fallopian tubes, adhesions not previously diagnosed. IUI 1&2 -BFN On to IVF 1/09 1/26 - ER -22 eggs only 9 fertilized  1/31 - ET & 4 snow babys  2/6 HPT   2/10 Beta-256 2/12 Beta-568 3/2 First U/S - One Baby! 3 dogs & 3 cats

I got AF a few days after my lap and then tried an IUI the next cycle.

Me - 37, Endometriosis, CF issues, poor egg quality, MTHFR DH - 40 A OK 4 IUIs, all  Laparascopic surgery to diagnose and remove endometriosis. 3 IUIs, all September 2008 - IVF BCP and Lupron Started stims 8/14 ER week of 9/22 Transfer 9/29 - Transferred 2 embies Beta October 13  Sadly another IVF #2 Started BCP December '08 Started stims January 8 '09 ER January 20 ET January 23 13 retrieved, 2 fertilized and transferred. Beta February 6 IVF #3 - Took DHEA Uterine Biopsy Retrieved 4, 2 fertillized Transferred 2 November 8 beta !!!

I got AF about 2 weeks after my lap. My RE was willing to go ahead with IUI the next cycle. We decided to try that cycle naturally and ended up with a BFP on our own. My endo was mild. Good luck with the lap. It's not so bad. Just be sure to take it easy following the surgery. I took a week off from work.

Didn't need to---> 4/26/08- on hpt!!! Natural Cycle4/28/08-1st Beta 15 dpo-516!  4/30/08-2nd Beta 17 dpo-1286! Grow baby grow! 5/14/08-1st U/S-one perfect heartbeat!  5/21/08-2nd U/S-baby measuring on schedule! 7/28/08-Level II ultrasound-It's a GIRL!!! TTC #2 since July '09 - naturally for now.

My lap turned into major surgery, so my Dr wanted me to wait 3 cycles to heal. I didn't want to wait that long, so we compromised and waited 2.

I had Stage 3 endo and had my lap/hysteroscopy in April of 07. My RE wanted me on Lupron shots for three cycles. I completed those in June 07 but AF didn't return till Labor day weekend. Then I started IUI's. I really didn't mind the four month wait because it gave my mind, body and emotions time to regroup and start again with fertility treatments. Good luck to you.

I am having lap surgery on Jan 9th. Really nervous and scared. I also heard that the first 6 months are the best to try to get pg after lap, but I guess each case is different. My RE says I have pretty severe endo, mine is on my ovaries already. LEt me know how your lap went. I am next
