Endometriosis and pregnancy chances? Help plz..

Hello! I am new here, I hope I am posting this in the right category.

First of, I'm a man, so excuse my lack of knowledge on the subject. I am trying to learn more about it.

So, my partner has had surgery for her endometriosis. What I have understood is that with this surgery she had all her female reproductive system removed. Please correct me if I haven't understood well.

I thought there's no chance she can have a baby, and she always tells me that I should be with someone else that can give me babies. Well, I love her so much and I wouldn't change her for no other woman, so it doesn't bother me if we can't have kids.
But, last night.. She told me that I would do such a great father and that she'd love to have a baby with me. Even if it's not possible, just her words made me smile so big and love her even more. And at the same time it made me wonder...

So, my question is, is there any chance that she can get pregnant? I know the natural way is out of the question. Is it possible with IVF? I'm not even sure how that works, but if it is possible, will the baby have her DNA and mine, hers the donor's and mine or just the donor's and mine?

Thanks so much in advance,
V

PS: Excuse possible minor mistakes, English isn't my native language.

Hello,

I was diagnosed with endometriosis stage IV late last year.

Usually during surgery they just clean you up and remove all of the scar tissue. Did they remove all of her reproductive organs or just the scar tisse from the organs?

From what I have been told from my doctor, if there is still one ovary left there are still chances of getting preganant. Although with the endo chances of conceiving naturally are very low.

If she has no ovaries left she still do an IVF with donor eggs and your sperm. The baby will only have the dono's DNA and yours.

Hopefully I was some help, if not maybe somebody else can jump in.

Ok, if she had all of her reproductive system removed (uterus and ovaries) then your course would be donor eggs and a surrogate. Normally a surrogate isn't the egg donor, so the surrogate wouldn't have any genetics shared with the child. If your partner still has her ovaries you can do ivf and have the surrogate carry the child and it would be yours and your partner's dna. Did I make any sense?

Thank you both for your help!

I asked her more about it and she said, she had two surgeries. On the second, they had to remove scar tissue and the ovaries they left on the previous surgery.

So it seems our only option is what Kellileanne said. I don't understand though how the surrogate wouldn't share any genetics with the child. And also, how would the child have my partner's dna.

Does she still have the uterus? If she does she can carry the baby with donor eggs.

My understading is that if she is using donor eggs, the baby will not have her DNA only yours.

Also, if a surrogate is carrying the baby with donor eggs, the baby will only have the DNA of the donor and yours.

Nope, unfortunately her uterus has been removed too.

I guess our only option is surrogate with donor eggs.

Thanks again for all your help everyone!
