I had a lap don on February 2009 and had my first shot of Lupron on March 30, 2009 and it was a three month shot. I opted not to receive another shot because I didn't feel that it was doing much good. So on June 30th I began to bleed which felt like a period because I had the back pain, some cramping along with minor bloating, but it didn't last long it only lasted for three days and it was light and my periods are usually heavy. My question is should I consider this a period or should I wait another month before TTC? DH and I are anxious to start trying and the reason I'm asking is because I'm trying to figure out when I will ovulate if that was a 'real' period. Any advice would help!! Thanks

hey. i was on Lupron for 6 months. My doctor told me that I should wait at least one cycle. It sounds like you def had some kind of cycle even if it wasn't what you are used to. THat is pretty normal after being on those kinds of hormones.

I hated Lupron. WHat did you think?

I absolutely hated Lupron and I will never take it again. I was only on it for three months, but those three months were horrible. The night sweats, and hot flashes, and especially the mood swings were the worst. I feel so sorry for my husband for having to put up with me for three months like that. I don't even think that the Lupron even phased me because I still cramped every month just as bad as if I were having a cycle. My advice to anyone that is considering taking Lupron: "Don't do it".

I ended up losing my job because of the Lupron-Depot side effects. My doctor told me it takes quite a while for the drug to leave your system, and she & my RE said I had to wait 3 months from the last shot before TTC. I would definitely contact your doctor to see how long s/he wants you to wait before TTC.

Can I ask what is Lupron used to treat? I am meeting with my doctor next week to discuss surgery to treat my endo. Does anyone know how long after the surgery that I can get another IUI done???

Hello, I just this morning to see my RE regarding a laparoscopy. I asked the same question and they told me that they would do a IUI after the second cycle after surgery.

Ladyki - Thank you for the information. After 3 years of trying to get pregnant it is very frustrating. I am very impatient about waiting for another iui, but I am willing to do whatever it takes. Right now I have been in nonstop pain for the past 12 days (some days are worse than others). My husband says have the surgery in order to get rid of the pain and then we will refocus on the IUI. I am on the fence about that. I have to make a decision by July 16th. I am not sure what I am going to do yet. Thank you again for the information.
