Endo and failed IVF
Hello all,
I was suffering with a lot of chronic pain which got worse from July 08 and was finally diagnosed with endo in Sep 08. The Gyn i went to stated that preg was the only sol and suggested me to get my tubes checked (After months of unsuccessful natural conception) and also sperm count of my husband. The sperm count was low but improved with ayurvedic medicines but motality remianed low. He however convince me not to have surggery and instead have IUI . I did 5 cycle of IUI the result of which was BFN. After the pain became unbearable i finally had lap surgery wherein i was diagnosed as having Stage 4 Endo. My surgeon told me to consult an IVF Specialise and not to go to regular Gyn for treatment and instead go to IVF Specialist. I went to IVF Specialist who put me on BC in July 09. However as ovaries had shrunk they advised me not to do the 1st cycle in Aug 09. I did my first cycle in Oct 09 wherein i have 6-8 follices on both sides however only 2 eggs vould be retrieved out of which only one egg fertilised. The specilist used donor eggs and she transferred a total of 4 eggs. However the test was neg (the results were just out on monday). I am 28 years old and all this is a big diappointment. I am wondering whether there is a point at all in doing the second cycle?? Is it worth a try or should i give up the thought . Its all very disheartening. |

I am so sorry to hear about your cycle. What does your RE say? I had a similar situation on my first cycle. I had about 5-6 follies and only one immature egg was found. We never made it to ET. I did some research and it seems that endo can cause empty follicle syndrome. Did they remove most of the endo? Do you have any on your ovaries? Did they remove endometriomas from your ovaries? Cutting and burning the ovaries can diminish your supply.
You mentioned you transferred your embryo and 3 donor egg embryos. Are you considering doing a donor cycle? After 3 unsuccessful/canceled cycles, we are planning our first donor egg cycle in Dec/Jan. I am only 33, so I understand what a difficult decision it is. If you have questions, feel free to pm me. Best of luck!

Hey
Hey,
The RE told me that its not a sure shot thing in any way. But i have no problem with my lining so may be it will work next time. Yes most of my Endo was removed it was excised and not burnt. I dont have any endo on my ovaries. My ovaries have not been cut or burnt. I have 4 frozen fertilised eggs left from my 1stc cycle. I am planning to do a 2nd cycle in march maybe, lets see. Thanks for the support. Hope you are successful with your donor cycle. But plz go with a open mind for the donor egg cycle. All the best. |
