New to Endometriosis
Hi. DH and I have been TTC#1 for 12 cycles. Yesterday I was diagnosed w/ endometriosis. It has been suspected by myself and my mother since I was a teenager (I'm 30 now) but was never diagnosed. I was mainly blown off and told that my cramps would get better (I would vomit and pass out - sorry if TMI). I was on BCP for 12 years. Cramps have gotten much better - manageable - but now I am struggling to get that BFP. I am scheduling a LAP for mid-July. Has anyone here had success with pregnancy after a lap and how long did it take? I am getting impatient
I realize my diagnosis could have been much worse and my Dr seemed really positive about my chances of conceiving after treatment. Thanks for anyadvice that you have. Heather |

He didn't say when we could start TTC again after the Lap but what I've read says 2-3 weeks. We will go over everything in my pre-op meeting on the 12th. (Surgery now scheduled for the 18th). If my body cooperates, will be just in time for O. Who knows. As always, I'm still holding out hope that my body will do it on its own this week. There's always hope.

Hi Heather. I was also recently diagnosed with endo. I had my lap and D & C a week ago today. Like you my symptoms were ignored when discussed with doctors. I also got severe cramps, throwing up, dizziness, weakness, and would be curled up in a ball. When I was 18 I had a doctor finally give me BCPs and they really did help. I still had worse cramps compared to others, but not as bad as I used to get.
I have one son who is 6. I was not TTC and was on the pill when I got pregnant. Last July My husband and I got married and started TTC even before the wedding. total TTC time so far is 14 months. My lap went very well. I was scared that it would be very painful, but it really was not that bad. my doctor said we could start trying again one week after the surgery. I am no way ready to start trying today!! Even though I am feeling better, I am not that better. Fortunately I got my AF last night. We will try start trying again next week. I will keep you updated on my luck If you have any questions about the procedure feel free to ask me. Maureen |

Thanks Maureen. So nice to know I'm not alone in all this. Just learned a few minutes ago of a friend of a friend who conceived 2 months after her lap. SOOOO. . . got my fingers crossed.

My doctor is also very optimistic. He said that I should be pregnant in 3 months. I hope he is right.

Hi gal
I do hope that you will have great success, I had beaten all the odds that were against me and my daughter is now 17, and quite the young woman. We have a web site with our story if you would like to read it at KARE2004.com and learn about Kari's great success in becoming endo free at 16. I am not selling a thing, just giving info and knowledge about a positive treatment, this same treatment is used for infertility, you may want to discuss it with your doctor as well. Write with any questions or concerns, take care, God Bless, Sheila |
