Question IUI after Lap?

I posted this in the IUI thread, but didn't get much response, so:
My RE found and removed mild endo in March. I've had one period and I'm currently in the 2ww after trying naturally. We had planned on starting IUI w/clomid and injectables next cycle. My RE said we could do IUI whenever we felt ready. I figured, the sooner the better. Well, I went to my gyno yesterday for my annual and she was surprised that we were going to go ahead with the IUI so soon after the lap. She asked if the RE was pressuring me to get started and I told her it was our decision. She said that normally since you're more fertile after the lap, many couples try on their own for a few cycles. So, I'm wondering if we should put it off for a few more cycles. Next month will be really tricky with my husband being out of the country mid-cycle, so it might work out if we waited another month. Sorry to ramble, but I'm really stressed about making this decision. Any input would be greatly appreciated!!
