I want to get the lap done asap...i was just wondering about the recovery time so that I could make plans with work....I can't wait though, If I walk around the mall for a couple of hours I start cramping. Not terrible cramps, but enough to make me want to go home and lye down; so I'm eager to feel better and get pregnate already!! It's so frustrating not being able to and not knowing why.
My insurance only offers one infertility specialist, which is the doctor I've been going to but I have no referrals for him and I feel a bit uneasy about him recommending to do IVF or IUI without doing a lap first. I left a message to my doctor from last year...he was great but I had to change insurances unfortunately due to work. I am wondering how much a lap goes for and maybe I just pay for it out of pocket. Congrats on your BFP!!! |

wantabigbelly...
Laps are very expensive if you pay out of pocket. I must have paid a few thousand just with co-pay. The original billed amount (incl anethesia, pathology, meds, surgical center, dr's time, etc.) was over $15k! Regarding the recovery time... I had mine done on a Friday morning, so I took that day off, and was back at work Monday morning. I've heard other ladies say they took a few days more - it all depends on how extensive the surgery was i guess. Good luck!

Also if I were you I would ask to get your HSG done while you are getting your lap. That way you are out during the procedure. I heard that the HSG is not fun and thats what my doctor did for me when I had my lap done. Good luck.

Hi, i was just told by my gyn that i may have Endo. I had an ultrasound done this past monday and my doctor called me back later that day stating that i definetly need surgery. My husband and i have been trying to conceive for a bout a year. I've had many problems with my period, irregular bleeding, abdominal pain, etc. that my old doctor overlooked. I'm actually looking forward to the surgery, because i really want to feel better, and want to increase my chances of conceiving. i read that you just had the surgery and was wondering how you were making out now. Are you on any medications or thinking of doing IVF?
