I think I just lost some semen. I went to go to the bathroom and there was a wad of yellowish-white stuff in my undies. I'm not sure exactly what it is because it could be yeast, but there's a lot of it. It was by no means the whole thing, but still...
I had sex last night, approximately 20 hours ago. I also think I may have sat up too quickly after sex - I only stayed on my back with my hips elevated for about 5 minutes. Is it possible that I was fertilized despite this apparent loss and quick movement? I don't have fertility issues (at least, not any of which I am aware - I'm just starting to try, though). |

i also agree, however, what got my attention was the yeast infection part, i was recently told that a yeast inders your chances of conceiving as it can affect the sperm, it that is so then you might want to have the yeast look at and treated by your Dr. just pasting on a taught.

It really is a misconception?? Now I feel totally silly and almost a dim wit. I couldn't tell you how many times I thought that if I raised my hips we might have some luck. I've laid there for 20 minutes afterwards with my hips on a pillow raised thinking that would work. Thank you for explaining this to me Tulip! The more I have read on here the smarter I have become with everyone's help. I greatly appreciate it so, so much! |

It certainly doesn't hurt though to lay with your hips elevated, so you're not being silly in the littlest. When the cervix is in the correct position you should have very (TMI) leakage. ![]() |

I've read/been told that you should try and lay down for 30 minutes after intercourse. Whatever sperm that will likely be strong enough to fertilize your egg will have already made it into the cervix and into your uterus. Whatever comes out after that is fine. I've also heard that elevating your bum too much can cause problems...since your cervix sticks up away from the top of your vagina in a cone like shape. If you elevate too much the sperm settles down below where the cervix opening is...a slight elevation may help though.

It is a myth in my family about not getting up after sex. The way I think of it is that the man orgasms pretty strong. Ive heard that having an inverted uterus helps. Just nmy 2 cents

I have been standing on my head! Just kidding!!!! Not that I haven't thought about it!
Anyway, from what I have read, the sperm swim away from their fluid once inside...so just because you have discharge of seminal fluid 20 hours later doesn't mean the spermies are still in there. liv

Don't the sperm have issues when it comes to getting to the egg to begin with? An uphill battle for lack of a better phrase. Perhaps not uphill but there is usually something that is does difficulty getting to it normally. I'm trying to remember biology from 20 plus years ago so my brain is a little dusty. LOL! it is amazing the little time and assistance that is needed for fertilisation if you are both fertile! Sounds like semen. You can try a HPT in about 10 days if you want to, otherwise wait and see if you get your next mc.
