Has you Dr. tested your progesterone? It is a simple blood test they do around CD 21 and according to my Dr. any result above a 10 means you ovulated. I would ask about having that done before going on meds. I was not ovulating on my own and they did the test, it was at .7 so then we moved on to clomid. I took it for 3 cycles and got pregnant on the last cycle. Unfortunately we had a miscarriage. Common side effects are headache, hot flashes, moodiness, cramps. It is like really bad pms for some people but some people don't have too much of a reaction. I had bad headaches, and hot flashes. But I found that taking it at night helped with that. And the 3rd cycle I had cramping around ovulation that was painful. Hope this helps. There is a thread in the clomid support section titled "the new occ" all the ladies are great and can tell you about thier experiences. Good luck!

A few things I would suggest. I'm not sure which type of OPK you are using...I started out using the kind where you had to compare the lines. Annoying! I could never figure out what was what. I started using the Clearblue Digital that gives you a smiley face when your surge hits. Much, much better. They are more expensive, $40 for a 7 pack, but worth the costs.
Clomid is super common to try. My body hated it...threw me completly out of whack. But it works for a lot of women. Good luck!

I wouldn't waste my money on the cheap ovulation testing sticks. I use to use them an never could find out when I was ovulating so I went to using the Clearblue Digital that gives you a smiley face when your surge hits. Then I could tell if I was having a LH Surge to tell you when you was getting ready to ovulate. A person can have a LH Surge but it doesn't mean that you ovulate each month. Some people can hit a high LH Surge but not ovulate at all. If you wandering if you are ovulating you need to BBT Charting alone with checking your mucus you have. If you have raw egg white your ovulating. There is some people only have very little raw egg white. So if can start BBT Charting, Doing the ovuation kit with the clearblue Digital with a smilie face easier to read and checkyou mucus. GL

I was using the home ovulation tests...tested the morning I went for bloodwork and ultrasound and didn't test positive. The nurse called that night and said they needed me in the next day for my iui. I ovulate but the sticks are not an accurate predictor for me. She told me from now on I'd need to come in for tests in order to get the timing right. Some people just don't trigger those tests.

Have you read the instruction very carefully? If yes, you better see the doctor to know why you are not ovulating at all.

The month I started Clomid I never got a positive OPK! i normally did without meds. just a warning that it can happen. AF did come on day 31 so I evidentally did ovulate --however because i never got a positive opk my timing was totally off.
My RE says that you can ovulate but not get a positive OPK. that was news to me!!!I switched this month to injectibles and did the trigger shot (triggers ovulation) so i didn't have to rely on the OPK. good luck.
