ovulation questions
Hi my husband and i have been trying to get pregnant for couple mnths now..
in the past my endocronlogist told me i had PCOS and on my last ultrasoud they told me I did not have cystic ovaries (which is a relief) I do get my period regular every 27 days but I don't know exactly when i ovulate, how to check for it, if i'm missing it completely.. i tried the ovulation kits and always get a negative result.. so i don't know what the next best step would be.. is their any signs i should look for? Has OPK's ever not work for anyone else? |

I wanted to welcome you to the forum! You will find lots of ladies with great information, and lots of support! Just recently I posted a similar question... I am not familiar w/ PCOS so I do not want to share something that may be wrong... Nonetheless, welcome and I hope you find the answers you are looking for!

There are several ways to "chart". Some people can chart their basal body temp (didn't work for me) and some people can chart their cervical mucus. There are different ways to chart cervical mucus. I used a method called the Creighton Model Fertility Care System. It is checking for mucus (wiping from front to back before and after each bathroom visit and bath/shower). If you find mucus and notice it getting thinner and clearer (will look like eggwhites) and sometimes watery that means you are ovulating very soon. If it gets thicker and sticky that means you are not currently ovulating (I usually would get this in the beginning and end of my cycles). There are many ways of charting ovulation, you can probably google it and come up with thousands of webpages of charting info! I would suggest googling it and seeing which works for you the best. Oh, and if you try OPKs again, get the digital! (so much easier to read)
