I have poly cystic and dont ovulate every month and when i do it's minimal my specialist has put me on drugs to make me me ovulate he said it has an 80% success rate but because my periods range from 30 - 45 day cycles he cant determine when i will be ovulating - need help any advice would be appreciated.

First off let me say Hi There! Did you dr. give you clomid ? Well any ways they say we should OV around CD 13 to cd 15 I start testing on CD11 and I Ov on CD16 but if your cycles are that long I think you are going to have to use alot of OPK's and If your dr. put you on meds to help you OV that will through your OV days and CD off till your body get use to the hormons . but OKP's cost do add up but I get a real good deal on them Ovulation Test Kits - Low Cost, Accurate, & High Sensitivity Tests they have some good deals !

But I use the OKP , BBT and I keep track of my CM ! But on that web site there are charts and other things . Check it out !

According to my doctor, if you are on Clomid you should ovulate 5 - 10 days after your last pill and you should start testing a day or 2 before you think you will ovulate to make sure you catch your LH surge.

So if you take your clomid on CD3 - 7 you would need to start testing for ovulation on CD10 of CD11 (you should ovulate between CD12 and Cd17) and if you take it CD5 - 9 you would need to start testing on CD12 or CD13 (you should ovulate between CD14 and CD19). But keep in mind these are just "standard" time frames, it is possible to ovulate later or earlier.

Test early and often, if you don’t have regular cycles. I agree with Cathie find some ov tests on line and order a bunch, the last batch I purchased were about $1 each, much better prices than the stores.
