That is great that your insurance covers the medical cost for the donor and would be doubly beneficial for the IVF patient turned donor. Finding a donor would depend on how your insurance breaks down the medical process. I don't think it would be completely free for the donor. She would probably have to pay for the fertilization and transfer out of pocket. Because I believe that the insurance coverage would stop for the donor after the eggs are retrieved. (Not sure at all just a guess) But even if that is not covered it is still a huge discount for the egg donor because the medication and the initial labs and retrieval would be covered!!

Have you talked to your RE or an RE in your area. He might be able to find your patients of his that are willing to be egg donors and that are financially struggling. I know that my husband and I would love to be presented with that in our area. Especially since we have considered egg donation anyway.

My sisters are all older than me and my friends are around the same age as me (40) so it really isn't an option.

Help for cost - anyone pls?

I'm planning to do IVF in Jan 09 in cleveland, OH. I want to how much it will cost for the program?
What are the test/procedures are included in this? Anyone please help me so that I can plan accordingly.

you can always research clinical trials for infertility in your area; if you find one going on, they usually cover all costs.
