We just spent about 15K on IVF, and it didn't take. I am devestated. The only thing that keeps me going is that I do have 2 frozen eggs that we are planning on trasferring soon. But even the frozen transfer is around 3K. Geez! We are tapped out and our budget is depleted. We talked about doing a home equity loan if we have to. In the mean time I have started selling Scentsy to make extra money. I have a friend that is a full time nurse that sells it and makes about 1K a month off of it. I am hopeful and am trying very hard to sell sell sell!! If anyone else is looking to make extra money check this out. It is fun and it is giving me a small sense of control over the situation. Scentsy: The Hottest New Thing in Candles It makes me so angry that insurance doesn't cover more fertility treatments. I guess it just shows how much I want it, that I am willing to do almost anything to make my dream of a family come true. |

We're scheduled for Jan 2010. DH is betting on his stocks. With 1 income plus living in the expensive Silicon Valley, we have enough to have a home and food on our table. Our cars are 9 year old and 16 year old. Tapping our home equity is another option for us. But still we've to pay back!
I heard that IVF in Canada is around $3K. Lucky people. |
