But even the frozen transfer is around 3K. Geez! We are tapped out and our budget is depleted. We talked about doing a home equity loan if we have to. In the mean time I have started selling Scentsy to make extra money. I have a friend that is a full time nurse that sells it and makes about 1K a month off of it. I am hopeful and am trying very hard to sell sell sell!!
If anyone else is looking to make extra money check this out. It is fun and it is giving me a small sense of control over the situation.

It makes me so angry that insurance doesn't cover more fertility treatments. I guess it just shows how much I want it, that I am willing to do almost anything to make my dream of a family come true.

Our 2nd cycle failed (another chemical) so we're tapped out too. My husband said I could go in for tubal surgery next year if I wanted to continue trying (it's roughly 6000 plus travel). I don't know....I wish there was another way to do IVF that was affordable....or we had insurance that covered it. I don't understand how women do 6+ cycles without some outside help, or insurance coverage. We just don't have that kind of cash.

We're scheduled for Jan 2010. DH is betting on his stocks. With 1 income plus living in the expensive Silicon Valley, we have enough to have a home and food on our table. Our cars are 9 year old and 16 year old. Tapping our home equity is another option for us. But still we've to pay back!

I heard that IVF in Canada is around $3K. Lucky people.
