Fertility Centers of Illinois (FCI) is recruiting patients for a research study evaluating pregnancy and Implantation & rates in women undergoing In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) and Preimplantation Genetic Screening (PGS)


IPSO Trial – Impact of Parental SupportTM on pregnancy Outcomes
Fertility Centers of Illinois (FCI) is currently recruiting healthy women undergoing In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) between the ages of 35 to 42 years to participate in a randomized study.

The purpose of the study is to determine whether PGS - testing of embryos created during IVF for chromosome abnormalities, prior to transfer to the Uterus - improves pregnancy and implantation rates in patients when compared to patients whose embryos are not tested. PGS will be conducted using 24 Chromosome Aneuploidy Screening with Parental SupportTM from Gene Security Network.

If you meet the criteria below, you may be a candidate for this study. To participate in the study you must:

• Be a healthy, pre-menopausal female, 35-42 years of age
• Have a history of less than 3 consecutive miscarriages and no more than one failed IVF Cycle
• Agree to use Ferring Pharmaceutical products during Stimulation
• Agree to be randomly assigned to either the arm of the study receiving PGS (TEST arm) or the arm receiving no additional testing (CONTROL arm)

Additional screening will be conducted to determine if you are eligible to enroll.

If you qualify and enroll you will receive discounted IVF medications. If you become pregnant during the study, you will receive a small payment for providing information about your pregnancy and birth. If you are assigned to the TEST arm of the study you will receive free PGS.

How did your consult go?

She says that I might have PCOS, and that would be the reason why I havent had a period. So she gave me some Provera to start my period. Then she will do a baseline and DH a new sperm analysis. Then we will meet for a consult. She said its up to us if we want to do IUI or IVF. Im going for IVF with the pre-screen for Hemophillia A on the embyros. So we looking at end of Sept begining of Oct for ET. Im so excited!

I applied for that study through the computer and got an email back but have not been contacted personally yet. Other than that I finished my prometrium and am waiting for AF to start stimming for my iui.

That you get into the study. I think that would be a wonder experience. Have you tried calling to check on it?


Im still waiting for AF. I finished the Provera on Sunday. She never comes when you want her too but always shows up when you dont want her. Maybe I should wear all white tomorrow and make plans to go to the beach. Then she'll come. Lol.

I did hear back from them yesterday. They emailed me saying I might qualify and sent me a more in depth questionaire. I didn't realize though that you still have to pay for everything except a med discount. I guess I didn't read it close enough before. The clinic is too far away if that's the only money saving. I was really disappointed. So I too am just waiting around for AF to start meds for my IUI.
