How much does IVF typically cost? And what about FETs if the first IVF doesn't work?

I'm guessing IVFs average about $10K - anywhere from like $9K to $12K. I believe you can get an FET for less than 4K since you don't have to do the initial egg retrieval or as much of the monitoring and drugs that you'd need for the initial IVF. But you'll have to add the storage costs.

Are you working out a budget for your infertility treatment plan? What have you tried so far?

I think about $10K is average, especially if you have insurance that will cover some of the drugs. Do you live in a fertility-friendly state? Will your insurance cover any IVF?

Part of the cost may also depend on the place where you go for treatment. I remember back in '02 when we started IVF our RE told us to expect to pay between $10K and $15K. But logically, he figured it would be around $13K. I'm not sure why there was such a huge range. We lucked out and our insurer covered EVERYTHING. Just our co-pays were our responsibility.

Yeah I was told about 10K, plus drugs. From what I read, it can be another 5K for drugs- so that is important to find out.

I don't know much about the FET's but it has to be cheaper than a full blown IVF cycle!
