I am new to the message board. I wanted some information on the IVF process. I am so confused at the moment. What are the steps/medicine invloved with IVF from beginning to the ER. I am waiting for my re appt. to begin our 1st IVF. I knew you guys would have the most valuable information. I have no clue other than what the RE said was call me on Day 3 of your cycle.

first of all welcome to our family!! i think that there are so many different protocols out there for ivf processes, but i will share with you a little about mine.

step 1: 3 weeks on birth control pills starting the sunday after my cycle begins. (some women don't do this step)

step 2: 10 days of Lupron injections

step 3: add gonal-f and lower lupron dosage, continue this for approx. 5 days

step 4: add menopure injection, cont lupron and gonal-f for approx 3-4 days

step 5: strigger shot

step 6: Egg Retrieval

step 7: Egg Transfer

step 8: go insane due to the horrible 2ww

Thank you so much!!! This was very helpful. I have to travel alot for work and wanted to see what the schedule looked like in order to request no travel plans for awhile. Of course, easier said than done. I will be for baby dust....
