SEFC Continues to Recruit Study Participants

SEFC Continues to Recruit Study Participants

For the past five months, Southeastern Fertility Center has been participating in a research study comparing two different formulations of a medication used in in-vitro fertilization (IVF) cycles. We have just been notified that the study screening period will close in two weeks. We currently have THREE appointment times available in our Mt. Pleasant office for anyone interested in being screened for participation in the study. Patients who qualify for the study will receive an in-vitro fertilization cycle and any study-related procedures for $1,500 plus the cost of their medications (approximately $2500 - $3000) in exchange for their participation.

If you meet the criteria below, you may be a candidate for this investigational, clinical study:
1) Must be between ages of 18-34 with at least a one-year history of infertility
2) No more than two consecutive clinical miscarriages
3) No tobacco use for the previous three months
4) BMI of less than 38 kg/m2
5) No more than one previous failed IVF cycle
6) Must be able to read and comprehend English

If you would like to reserve one of the three remaining study appointment times, please contact Jean Acsell or Sheri Pilley, our New Patient Coordinators, at 843-881-3900. Please note that you will be responsible for the cost of your first appointment which is $368, including a semen analysis, ultrasound, bloodwork and physician consult.

About Us
Founded in 1982,
Southeastern Fertility Center is home to the first In-vitro Fertilization (IVF) conception and birth in South Carolina. Since the first IVF baby was born in 1985, the team at SEFC has also introduced blastocyst transfer, frozen embryo transfers, micromanipulation techniques, genetic testing, oocyte tissue cryopreservation and an active donor oocyte program. Dr. Grant Patton, Dr. John Schnorr and Dr. Stephanie Singleton are dedicated to providing the most personalized, effective treatment available for couples who are experiencing infertility. In addition to clinical expertise, SEFC also offers the Integramed Shared Risk Refund program which was developed to reduce a couple's financial anxiety by fixing the costs associated with multiple IVF cycles. SEFC has offices in Mt. Pleasant, Columbia and Myrtle Beach, along with additional monitoring sites in Savannah and Wilmington, to conveniently serve patients across the region.

I think this is for the Progesterone Study...there is a large group of study participants on the IVF board (most from TX). I didn't know that the recruitment stopped in 2 weeks though...WOW!
