Could it be a LPD??
I am looking for any advice regarding my issue. I have been TTC since September 2007. I went off the pill in August 2007. I was successful in getting pregnant in October 2007, but miscarried right away at 5 weeks. I then waiting until I got my period on 12/22 and found myself bleeding/spotting 1/9 - 1/17 (still not sure why). I went to see the dr. on 1/23....I was 4 wks. pregnant! She then sent me for HCG & Progesterone tests. The Progesterone test was very low and the hcg were not going up...I finally ended up miscarrying on 2/17 (I chose to wait and let it happen naturally). After that I was sent for genetic tests...everything normal. I did take a Progesterone 21 test on 4/15. Not normal. It was .4 and I was told that it should be 10. My dr. thought that I might have a luteal phase defect and that I was ovulating too late. Could this be possible? My March cycle was 36 days...i just got my period yesterday and this has never hapened before. I am used to having regular 28 day cycles on the pill and never got to know what my cycle was not on the pill because I kept getting pregnant and miscarrying. My dr. wants to give me clomid, but I decided to wait once more month and see what would my period do this month. I also have an appt. with another dr. set for 5/16. I am very upset because I am delaying TTC again, but I'm not sure if I trust my dr. based on 1 progesterone test...could it just be that that period was thrown off because of my previous miscarriage? What would you do...any advice is greatly appreciated.
Sorry for the long post. |

Hops451-I just saw your post and wanted to tell you my experience. My RE also thought that I couldn't get pregnant because of a possible LPD. I also got pregnant once before only to m/c at 5 wks. We tried so many treatments (as per my signature) and finally got preggo last Sept. The only thing he did different on my last cycle was to add Repronex. He also split the HCG in two parts. First part was to trigger ovulation and the second part, 10 days later, was to help with my progesterone levels. Hope this helps and best of luck to you
.

Please see my signature....we sound very much alike! My cd21 progesterone was also very low (I'm not sure of the exact level) and I have a history of miscarriage (3) as well. I needed progesterone supplements with my pregnancies except my last one (ds born 10/07) in which I conceived on my 1st round of clomid. My Dr. also felt that I had a LPD. Best of luck to you!
