My husband started taking fertilaid supplements in March. A year ago, he was low in everything (less than 1mil, motility 15%...). Combined with his condition (retrograde ejaculation), doctors told us our only option was IVF.
Fast forward to yesterday. My husband gave a sample for IUI, and it was "excellent." His counts were 18 millions post-wash, and the motility was 80-something%. This IUI was going to be cancelled because the frozen samples were not good enough for IUI. We were all pleasantly surprised, and I saw shock and disbelief in my doctor's face (of course, in the positive sense).
My husband has made other changes in lifestyle as well. He was not an everyday drinker, but he did cut back on alcohol down to 2 drinks/week. We got a dog last fall, and he takes the dog for a walk and plays with him a lot. While it's not any super vigorous exercise, I believe that the increased activity level helped increase the quality. I started making "snack packs" for him to take to work. It's just different kinds of nuts and dried fruits. I read online that pumpkin seeds help with sperm production, so I made sure to include them in every pack. I alternate other nuts and fruits, like almonds, walnuts, and cashews. He used to snack on sweet candies at work, so I think it's the combination of getting benefits from eating healthy nuts and decreasing sugar intake. He's also cut back somewhat on caffeine.
I don't know about the booster pills, but I really truly believe that the fertilaid supplements work! Now, we have hope to conceive through IUI, which is a huge step up when we thought our only option was IVF.
