Name: Dre
Age at conception: 33
Diagnoses: Endo
Treatments you tried before IVF: Natural?
How many fresh and frozen cycles before success: 0
Protocol (meds taken): Lupron, Pogest. Patches, estrogen Pill w/patches, thyroid meds, prenatal meds. (I think that's it)?
Complimentary treatments (acupuncture, massage, etc.): RELAX, and don't have a lot of stress in your life, it affects your results.
How many days bedrest (if any): 2 1/2 (DH did everything)
How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: We only had 2 left over from IVF, and they were grade 2 and 3 Blasts.

Symptoms or issues during your successful 2WW: feeling sick, hungary, boobies were NOT sore, and I was very emotional, I wanted to cry at EVERYTHING!
HPT before blood test? Yes, the first one there wasn't a result, I had kept the test on top of the fridge, and it was just blank, I didn't have another one in the house so I didn't test again.
The next day I bought another set of two, and tested in the evening, it was negative, but I waited 2 more days (one day before BETA) and it was positive (but faint line).
What day you got your BFP: see signature this whole past 30 days are a big blur.
Number of first beta: see signature
Number of babies: unknown at this time we find out on 8/20, I hope posting here doesn't mean I am counting my chickens before they hatch.
Advice for those going through FET now:

I know there have been a lot of successes that are not listed on here just from the frozen cycle group I've been chatting with. Please keep this going I need to see positive results.

I had a failed IVF (first one) in March of 08' , and decided to try FET. We transfered 3 hatching blasts on June 2nd and I am now 12 weeks 5 days pregnant with one little angel!! FET's are so much better than IVF!!!! Good luck to all those going through this. It really works!

How many fresh and frozen cycles before success: 1 Fresh and 1 frozen
Protocol (meds taken):

Advice for those going through FET now: Never give up, even though your RE may say you do not need to take off more than 2 days I suggest you take off as many days as you need so your not at work stressed and worrying if your embabies implanted. That was my problem the first time

IVF #1 (2002):

Name: Jennifer
Age at conception: 29
Diagnoses: PCOS and hubby has issues
Treatments you tried before IVF: none..it was our only hope
How many fresh and frozen cycles before success: our first ivf was frozen embryo transfer because of OHSS with fresh cycle (cancelled). Then the first FET was successful (2 out of 3 5d blasts took).
Protocol (meds taken): lupron, gonal f, estrace (vag and oral), medrol, tetracycline and PIO
Complimentary treatments (acupuncture, massage, etc.)
How many days bedrest (if any): 3 after transfer
How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: 2
Symptoms or issues during your successful 2WW: cramping, pinching, bloating and sore breasts
HPT before blood test?: yes.....3
What day you got your BFP: 6dpt =
Number of first beta: 250
Number of babies: 2
Advice for those going through FET now: see below

IVF #2 (9/26/08):

Name: Jennifer
Age at conception: 34
Diagnoses: PCOS (same as above)
Treatments you tried before IVF: see above
How many fresh and frozen cycles before success: see above
Protocol (meds taken): lupron, estrace (vag and oral) tetracycline, medrol and PIO
Complimentary treatments (acupuncture, massage, etc.)
How many days bedrest (if any): 3 after transfer (and relaxed the whole 2ww)
How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: 1 very good blast
Symptoms or issues during your successful 2WW: cramping, bloating, pinching, sore breasts, moodiness
HPT before blood test?: 6dpt and 7dpt...still
What day you got your BFP: hopefully next week!!!!!
Number of first beta: 10/10/08..wish me luck!!!
Number of babies: hopefully 1
Advice for those going through FET now: It's really tough to sit and wait for 2 weeks following the transfer, but it helps to have family around to talk to. I think I like testing each morning because each day I'm dealing with a possible so it won't be so difficult hearing the possible news on 10/10 for the beta. But maybe one of these days I'll see a and I'll be even more excited !!! And having you girls here to help me along was very helpful!!! Thanks and to all of you in my boat right now!!! I just have 7 more days til I know for sure if my twin boys (from our first FET) will have a baby bro or sis!!!

Diagnoses: Severe Endo
Treatments you tried before IVF: was told nothing else would work... tubes tied by scarring. chocolate cysts in both ovaries.
How many fresh and frozen cycles before success:
Protocol (meds taken): 1 fresh cycle ended in beta of 29 then a 6 two days later. ohss. severe pain and 12 pound weight gain! Thank god for the frozen we got out of the first cycle! Pregnant from IVF #2: FET! 2 4AA blasts thawed and transfered.
Complimentary treatments (acupuncture, massage, etc.) Nothing really. didnt have any money left to do these extra things!!! My insurance covered ZERO of this.
How many days bedrest (if any): 2 after transfer.
How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: 2 - 4AA Blasts
Symptoms or issues during your successful 2WW: Flowly cramps like AF was coming. I was positive I would bleed at any second!!
HPT before blood test?: No way! didn't want any false positives/negatives... wanted to see blood test only!
What day you got your BFP: 11dp5dt. (technically the frozen embryos had been left to grow one more day in the lab before freezing so i guess it was 11dp6dt.
Number of first beta: 585!
Number of babies: not sure yet...
Advice for those going through FET now: Good luck and try to keep positive. they kept telling me the success rates were lower but remember that your body isn't going through all that stimming so I think that balances it out!!!!

Frozen Success

I'm breaking the rules a bit by not using the form, but I hope to provide some support/inspiration regardless.

For reasons that have never been clear to me, I've struggled for several years with infertility. Everything technically looks fine, but then... I never ovulate. Which really irritates me b/c ... how many years have I spent on BC??? (FYI I was an egg donor 10 years ago - I thought this would be easy! I should have good karma!)

Anyway, I also have MS so every month that we were not successful, meant another month off my meds, etc. Very stressful.

So, we tried with the obgyn some clomid. Then after 4 mos he finally referred me to fertility expert. My fertility Dr has a sister with MS so he understood what I was going through. We tried one cycle of stimulating ovaries - I responded gangbusters... then crashed.

So began the IVF cycles. Harvested a lot of eggs, lots of good luck with that. Then fresh transfer, no dice. Was really hard as my mom was in PCU at the time. Then when my cycle cooperated again, we tried frozen #1. First blood test, small skinny positive. Second test. No dice.

I went into the second frozen with absolutey no hope, we were down to our last two embryos and I wasn't thinking very positive on it. BUT first blood then second... Then... a heart beat! No freaking kidding! Anyway, we're at 13 weeks and although I still haven't relaxed at least we've gotten this far.

I hope that this gives some folks hope after initial negatives.

Take care!

Age at conception: 24
Diagnoses: Male Factor infertility: Low count, low motility/mobility, poor morphology
Treatments you tried before IVF: none
How many fresh and frozen cycles before success: 1 failed fresh, first frozen worked
Protocol (meds taken): progesterone and estrogen pills and patches
Complimentary treatments (acupuncture, massage, etc.): none
How many days bedrest (if any): 3 days-i layed completely flat on my back the entire time this time. i even layed completely flat while i ate with just an extra pillow under my head for a prop. my husband stayed home with me and i had him carry me to and from the bathroom.
How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: 2 perfect blasts
Symptoms or issues during your successful 2WW: i swear i felt implantation. like on the second day after transfer i definately knew something was different from the first time. i remember i told my husband "i think it worked! i feel different". it felt like little tingly sensations in my lower abdomen. during 2ww nothing really significant, just a slight increased hunger and slight cramps off and on.
HPT before blood test?: yes BFP at 5dp5dt
What day you got your BFP: 5dp5dt on clearblue digital easy
Number of first beta: 2,744 at 14dp5dt
Number of babies: 1
Advice for those going through FET now: don't lose hope after a failed fresh transfer. what helped my confidence was that my dr. swore to me that at least ONE of my 4 remaining frozen embryos was DEFINATELY a baby. he said my blasts were perfect and to expect at least one to be a real baby. so that kept my confidence up. i also prayed alot all the days leading up to transfer and after. the day of the transfer when he was putting the embryos in i tried to imagine myself being in control and powerful. it helped my mindset alot to get through the transfer. that was also different than the last time when i was nervous. also during my first failed fresh attempt my husband and i did nothing the night before. on my frozen transfer my husband performed oral sex on me with orgasm, which actually may have helped the implanthing according to what i have read. anyway i hope my info is helpful!
