Name: Lia
Age at conception: 47 Diagnoses: No more eggs Treatments you tried before IVF: None -- we went straight to egg donation How many fresh and frozen cycles before success: 1 fresh, 1 frozen before. This was our second frozen. All three were successful in getting me pregnant, but staying pregnant was another matter. It took blood tests to determine I had antiphospholipid antibodies, which were treatable with injections. Protocol (meds taken): Estrace (estradiol), Endometrin (progeterone) suppositories, PIO once a day, Lovenox once a day. Complimentary treatments (acupuncture, massage, etc.) None, but I gave up all sugar and caffeine at least a month before each attempt. How many days bedrest (if any): 2-3, then easy-does-it for a few more. How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: 2, 2, and 3 Symptoms or issues during your successful 2WW: None at all this time, and it was completely unnerving. HPT before blood test?: Yes, eight of them. ![]() What day you got your BFP: Can't recall Number of first beta: 244 Number of babies: 1 Advice for those going through FET now: Patience and faith...

Wow!!! I can't believe I got a BFP and with Frozen Embryo Transfer!!!!
Me:39 ttc since 2006 unknown fertility all tests including laproscopy were fine no problems, very unexplained
DH: 33 perfect numbers are off the chart. Clomid 6 months, IUI 3 times IVF 1 Fresh cycle 22 eggs retrieved, 16 naturally fertilized, 8 frozen on day 2, 4 out of the other made it to blast. 2 transfered and 2 frozen to make a 10 total frozen. 8 day 2 and 2 day 6. All above attempts were: ![]() During IVF stimulation, retrieval and transfer, I was very sick vomiting even on phenergan the entire time. July 8th frozen embryo transfer 2 blast transfered, left with 2 blast frosties. Really no symtoms during 2ww just a little pulling in lower abdomen but I may have just imagined it because that is what everyone else said happened to them. ![]() 1st Beta July17Day 10 p5dt : 152 2nd Bet scheduled for Monday July 20...... I really never I thought I would see this day. I have had regular 28 day cycles to the hour my entire life, once when I was 29 I tried for a brief time to get pregnant and was 12 days late once but . I really am in disbelief. My husband and I have had every test known to man and they haven't been able to find a reason. My husband and I have decided not to tell anyone until I'm further along since it has been such a long road, I'm dying to tell my mother but she is very emotionally fragile so I think it's better to wait. And nevermind that I am a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nurse and know way too much for my own good. I have been reading this forum for over a year but this is my first post and I am so glad I did. Oh by the way I caught my husband outside crying a few minutes ago. He got embarrassed and said he was just wiping off his face since it is so hot outside. We have a ways to go so please everyone keep us in your thoughts and prayers!!!!!!! |

Dottie: I am SO happy for you. Oh what a wonderful time for you and your DH. I will be praying for you and your precious baby. Its the best, yet scariest feeling ever, but its still wonderful.
I just had two frozen embryo's transfered today. The other 5 did not make it, so this is our last chance with FET. (although we did have a DS through fresh IVF.

Hello there,
I've been reading posts on different sites for over a year and have never written one until now. I just got a on an HPT on Sunday, 7 days post FET, and again yesterday. I had a good feeling about this from the beginning. This will be our first baby if all goes well. I'm so excited I could burst, but with so many pitfalls along the way, it's too early to share joy with family and friends... but I needed to tell someone! So here I am. I also have to thank everyone who posts as your information makes this wild and often times stressful journey that much easier for me. I've spent many a night at 2 am just reading various posts for any information to help answer unending questions. Good luck to all of you!My signature contains some of the information that was requested when this thread started. Other info: Protocol (meds taken): IUI#1 - Clomid; 2 eggs produced. IUI#2 - Clomid and Follistim; 14 eggs produced. IVF - Follistim, Menapur, Ganirelix, HCG trigger, Doxycycline, Medrol, meds to reduce hyperstim, Estrace, Progesterone, and baby aspirin. FET - Lupron, Doxycycline, Medrol, Estrace and Progesterone. Complimentary treatments (acupuncture, massage, etc.): Relaxation massage 24 hours prior to FET (avoid deep tissue massage). How many days bedrest (if any): 2 days - day 1 completely off my feet; day 2 taking it easy. Symptoms or issues during your successful 2WW: I feel great. Relatively no symptoms aside from very slight cramping/pulling sensations (very different from my IVF 2WW where I was cramping a lot, bloated and very uncomfortable). I was worried the FET didn't work. At some point I realized that I have been ravenously hungry the entire time, and exceptionally tired, unable to keep my eyes open past 9 pm. Advice for those going through FET now: It's so much easier on the body than a full IVF cycle and therefore naturally creates a more peaceful environment for an embryo to implant. Going through IVF for the first time was a learning process... by the time FET rolled around I knew what I was in for and was considerably less stressed. If I had known before my IVF what I know now following an FET, I would never have set an expectation for IVF to be successful - I would have looked ahead to the 1st FET.

I think the success rate for FET is only 30-40% so last time you were in the 60-70% that don't conceive. The statistics are stacked against us in the assisted conception game and we just have to keep trying. I'm sure there's nothing wrong with your embryos so don't give up!

Even after BFP...nada (until 5w5d) HPT before blood test?: YES!! What day you got your BFP: 4dp5dt: ghost of a line, 5dp5dt: clear line and digital YES! Number of first beta: 84 at 7dp5dt Number of babies: 1 Advice for those going through FET now: Try and relax as much as possible. I had a total lack of symptoms during 2ww and even after BFP. It is a rollercoaster of emotions. My beta did not double (see signature), my hormones (p4 and E2) were dropping but it is still okay. In between the unsuccessful and the successful FET, I had a hysteroscopy/mini-d&c.

UPDATE!
8/25/09 Our beautiful daughter, Victoria Renee, was born on 7/2/09 at 1:06 a.m. She weighed 7 lbs., 12 oz and was 21 1/2 inches long. She's doing great and we are soooo very blessed! I bled A LOT in the first 12 weeks of my pregnancy and we were okay. Best of luck to everyone attempting FET! It does work and works a lot of the time! |

I only just got my first beta, 274, and so am very early in my pregnancy. Not sure if that is considered a "successful FET" - I won't be convinced until I am holding my baby! But here goes:
Age at conception: 36 Diagnoses: Unexplained infertility Treatments you tried before IVF: Clomid; 2 IUIs How many fresh and frozen cycles before success: 2 fresh IVFs - both were biochemical pregnancies. Complimentary treatments (acupuncture, massage, etc.): None How many days bedrest (if any): 3 How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: 2 embryos; both were 5AB Symptoms or issues during your successful 2WW: Nausea; fatigue; dull, pulling ache on the left side (sometimes the right) that comes and goes. HPT before blood test?: Started getting positive HPT only 4 days after transfer. What day you got your BFP: 11dpt Number of first beta: 274 Number of babies: No babies yet. Advice for those going through FET now: Don't read too much into your 2WW symptoms - the drugs cause all kinds of strange things to happen to your body.

Age at conception: 28
Diagnoses: Male Factor, but my hormones weren't right either Treatments you tried before IVF: 2 Failed IUI's How many fresh and frozen cycles before success: 1 each Protocol (meds taken): Estradoil, PIO shots Complimentary treatments (acupuncture, massage, etc.) : I drank a glass of wine every day in the 2 weeks before transfer. Go figure the cycle that I do that and didn't do accupuncture, etc is ths one that works. How many days bedrest (if any): 2, then took it really easy How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: 1, never asked for quality. Didn't want to know. Symptoms or issues during your successful 2WW: I felt the exact same way I felt during the other 2WW after IVF. HPT before blood test?: + the morning of the blood test What day you got your BFP: 6/29/09 Number of first beta: 227 Number of babies: One perfect one. Advice for those going through FET now: I don't know if I did anything different that made this one stick versus the others. If you're religious, hang on to that with all you have. It's the only thing that makes any of this make sense.

Ive been too nervous and excited to post here until now, but Im in the 14th week, and feel pretty good about our prospects of a live birth. IF is so hard. But ART can be such an incredible blessing!
Age at conception: 28 Diagnoses: secondary unexplained. Treatments you tried before IVF: 2 IUI's How many fresh and frozen cycles before success: Our first frest worked. And our first frozen was also successful Protocol (meds taken): with the FET we did a natural cycle w trigger shot and progesterone support. Complimentary treatments:none How many days bedrest (if any): 2 of mostly resting, then two of kind of resting. How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: we put two back in. my clinic does A, B, C, and mine were both B's. Symptoms or issues during your successful 2WW:lots of little twinges of cramping from time of transfer through first trimester. HPT before blood test?: yes. very faint 4dp5dt. It was really early What day you got your BFP: dont remember Number of first beta: 227. second was 704. Number of babies: Two little kickers Advice for those going through FET now: I liked what fertility socks said about haning onto faith. Also, remeber that while stats from your clinic might seem low, FETs can and do work. make a plan B from the start to ground yourself in case it doesnt work, and start thinking about using it. then hope for the best. I wish everyone reading this success and peace in the process. |

Age at conception: Me: 26 DH:25 Diagnoses: Me: FSH=13 Reduced Ovarian Reserve, DH: past radiation and chemo treatments Treatments you tried before IVF: None, RE said it was our only chance if we pursued IVF immediately. How many fresh and frozen cycles before success: 2 fresh cycles with IVF, we had 3 frozen and this was our 1st FET, and it worked! Protocol (meds taken): lupron, delestrogen 0.2ml, progesterone 2ml, baby aspirin, DHEA. Complimentary treatments (acupuncture, massage, etc.) I had acupuncture the day before as well as before the transfer and after, and I had an hour relaxation massage the night before. How many days bedrest (if any): My RE said 2 including transfer day, I stayed down for 3. How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: 3 - 3 day embies, 1-grade 1, 1-grade 2, 1-grade 3 Symptoms or issues during your successful 2WW: I felt so different during the first 4 days than I did with the fresh transfers. I was crampy, and I finally understood what people meant when they said they felt tugging. After the first 4 days I didn't feel ANYTHING though. My mouth had extra saliva, my boobs were sore (but were with the fresh transfers as well, so I give that to the progesterone) and for a few days I have clear discharge. HPT before blood test?: I took HPT's everyday! I was so sad because they were negative. Only 2 days before my blood test I finally got a very faint positive! What day you got your BFP: HPT: 8dp3dt, beta was 10dp3dt. Number of first beta: 84, then 186, then 311 Number of babies: I will be happy with any ![]() Advice for those going through FET now: Oh try hard to be nice to yourself. Don't over analyze, and honestly if I had more self control it would have been less stressful and painful if I could have just waited till the day before the blood test to POAS.
