Success even with a low initial BETA

Guys- I have been waiting to post because I wanted to get past our 12 week U/S and make sure we still had a HB. After frantically searching through all of these boards after our low initial beta, I also wanted to post our success here to give others hope who have low initial Beta's with FET's.

Name: Pier
Age at conception:
Me: 37 DH:45

Diagnoses: MF low count, low motility. I have a few fibroids but they are not significant.

Treatments you tried before IVF: Went straight to IVF once we found out about MF.

How many fresh and frozen cycles before success: DD on first fresh cycle (06/07). 2nd fresh cycle was freeze all while my eggs are still good (10/08). 1st FET (8/09), BFP.
Protocol (meds taken):
BC, delestrogen every three Days starting with 1 day of cycle, PIO starting five days before ET
Complimentary treatments (acupuncture, massage, etc.) I have not done accupuncture with IF treatments, but have used it for other issues and love it!

How many days bedrest (if any): Complete bedrest 24 hours, then take it easy for a couple more days.

How many and quality/rating of embryos/blasts transferred: We froze 9 embryos from 2nd fresh cycle at the 2PN stage. 8 made the unfreeze. On Day 5, (4) were still growing. RE recommend we transfer two on Day 5 because they were not quiet blasts yet. They were compacting Morulas. We chose to only transfer 1 since there was no fragmentation. None of the embryos made it to re-freeze.

Symptoms or issues during your successful 2WW: I knew within days that it had probably worked because I had a lot of cramping, especially 18 hours after transfer. BB's were hurting and started feeling very slight nausea.

HPT before blood test?: Started HPT's (FRER) at 5dpt, got an extremely faint positive had to hold the stick the right way and tilt it in broad daylight --FAINT. Continued to get slightly darker but still faint positives until Beta at 16DPO.

Number of first beta: 44 at 16DPO; 173 19DPO. Honestly thought it was chemical with such a slow initial beta, but still kept taking HPT's and they started getting darker. From everything that I have read FET's just start out with lower Beta's and my little guy was a day or so behind anyway.

Number of babies: eSET-- So just one!

Advice for those going through FET now: Even with a prior success this whole process just makes you looney since you are hyper aware of your body. I admire anyone with the ability to restrain from HPT's, I need that control during the process. Try and find what support systems work best for you. I like the message boards and my IRL GF's who have also struggled with IF. I also started back walking in the evening after about 5 days. It felt good to do some easy exercise.
