Linz it really good to hear from you. Jake is doing really good. He is 7 weeks already. I can't believe the time is going so fast. He has changes so much! Big brother is still really enjoying him. Being a mommy of two is a lot easier than I had thought it would be. I guess I had myself all worked up, but it's not so rough at all...at least not yet. I am not going back to work until mid June. I received 6 weeks of disability pay for maternity leave, and I will receive 6 more week of "bonding time" benefits. So all in all 12 weeks of pay for being a mommy!! Can't beat that. How are you doing? Looking forward to starting agian this summer? Hope all is well for you. Keep us informed on what is going on.

Ryan 12 weeks - that's great! Glad things are going smoothly and that your older ds is still enjoying his brother. I must say that I was worried about adding another one to the family also but it has been pretty easy - much more so than I thought. Now hopefully it will continue to be OK once dh starts working at the office again May 1....
Linz We are doing fine. I'm a little concerned as Emma's angelcare monitor went off last night (it detects if the baby stops breathing) but I'm calling her Dr today so I'm hpoing they can either reassure me or get her an apnea monitor. How are you doing? Terri Thinking of you as you count down to transfer day!

Megan- the babies are beautiful!!!! A big congrats to you and
to Kole and Kensley- very cute names btw!!!Ryan- glad to hear you're settling in! Thats is awesoe you get so much time off!!!! So better gig I can think of than being paid to be a Mom! Audra- oh hun- thats a bit scary about the monitor going off.....let us jnow what you find out! I'll pray all is okay- maybe an apnea monitor wouldn't be a bad idea- just for peace of mind if nothing else. I'm doing well girls- thank for asking! Weight loss is going well! I'm amazed how much better I feel! And my stress level I fell is way down- I think the exercise is helping my mood also. I don't know if we really realize how much all those hormones really affect us until our body is clear of them for a while! My good news- I started metformin today! I'm excited for that- and the hope of maybe restoring natural ovualtion- only time will tell! It helps to feel like I'm "Doing something" again- without playing all those hormone games!!! Happy Friday girls- and have a great weekend! ![]()

Linz that is great news!!! Sounds like you are on your way. I know what you mean about being free of those hormones. They can really make a person go mad.
Audra did you get your angelcare monitor from the hospital? I am curious cause Jake is always stuffy and will gag in the middle of the night cause he is having a hard time breathing. I am paranoid of course. I use nasal spray and humidifiers to help, but if I can find something like that in a store I am all over it!! Terri not to long until your transfer. I am praying this is it for you guys. You so deserve it. Good luck and let us know how everything goes.

Hi gang, it's so good to see all of you doing so well.
Megan-OMG those babies are beautiful!! How are you holding up? You have been through a lot since they were born. Audra-First off, Emma is really stunning!! I loved the photos, and by the way you look amazing as well! I'm glad the boys are adjusting well. Did you call the doc about the monitor issue? Why did they want you to have one? I hope she is doing well. Ryan-I can't believe Jake is 7 weeks old already! You sound like you are doing so so well going from 1 to 2. I always have heard that that is a big jump. You must be a super mom! Rebekah-How are you and the boys holding up? I hope things are starting to get a little brighter for you. I can't imagine how hard it must be to have 2 that need and want you every second. I'm sure it's exhausting. Hang in there! Lindsay-Hi cutie! You sound really good. I'm so proud of all of that weight you've lost, you go girl!! I don't know much about the met, does it work like clomid? As for me, I've been doing well. Dh and I just got back from 9 days in Mexico to blow off some steam. We had a really good time! I kinda tortured my skin (sunburn) and liver, but the rest of me is doing great. Now we are having (they say) the biggest snow storm of the year! Yikes, back to reality. As for my FET, I'm not making a big deal of it. I think it's because it's such a longshot and I'm scared to death to get my hopes up. I've been on lupron for a week or so and started extrogen patches on Mon. My bloodwork today looks good and I'm so far still on schedule. I did start AP and I still really like it!! Lastly, I'm now off caffiene and trying to eat right. This is always the hard part for me!! Thanks for all of your support and well wishes. Can you keep 'em coming? You are the best! ![]()

Just a quick post - will catch up later.
Ryan I bought the angelcare monitor from babies are us. It detects breath movements and you can actually see the ticker on the parent end showing the baby's breath movements. If it doesn't detect movement after x amount of time an alarm sounds. It actually helps me to sleep b/c I'm not constantly getting yp to check on her. Emma is fine - the Dr isn't convinced that she stopped breathing (nor am I - the light was off when the alarm went off). If it goes off again I'm supposed to remain calm and turn on the light and see how she looks - I'm a bit scared but it hasn't gone off again so... Sure glad dh and I took the infant cpr class - gives me some peace and hopefully we'll never have to use it. Baby's fussy - better go.

Audra- I'm so happy to hear Emma is doing just fine! How nerve wracking weither way. Hang in there hun-
Terri- Sounds like you had a wonderful trip!!! Where did you go in Mexico? I bet it was super warm there?! And to have to come back to snow is just cruel I do believe! I know its so hard to not get excitd and your hopes up, especially with all the perviousl heartache I'm praying for you hun- and no one is pulling more for you and your family Its so hard to really say on track- you can do it! I'm here to support yo 100%! If you need to talk or aything - you always know I'm here! Hope all the good ole horomes are treating you as well as can be expected. The metformin has just been shown to possile help restore ovualtion and imrove egg quality in women with pcos- so- I figured it was worth a shot! The only real downside is that it can cause some gastric distress issues. Luckily- everything had been going very with it.....but- I haven't taken it for the past 2 days....Steve and I both came down with an awful stomach flu! As well a bunch of his ther family memebers whom we were all around this weekend! It was awful! Thank goodness I'm doing better today- seems to just be a 24 hours deal! A little weight loss booster there I guess- lol-always trying to look fo the positive these days Hope everyone else had a great weekend! ![]()

Audra just wanted to say thanks for the info on the Angelcare monitor. I went out and bought one, and I LOVE it. I feel so much better about leaving the room and relaxing while he sleeps. Well worth the money!!
Linz-Yikes on the flu!! I hope I can avoid that for a long time. Ryan woke me up Saturday night and had thrown up in his bed. I think it was just from eating to much crap that day. We had a spring arts festival in town and of course Ryan had cotton candy, funnel cake, soda, popcorn etc... so needless to say it wasn't a healthy day. He was fine the next day. Good thing cause dh took him to Disneyland on Monday. Gosh that was a nice day for me hehe. It was 101 at that park!! I couldn't stand walking around in that heat. Well I guess I have blabbed long enough. Hope everyone is doing well.

Megan I love the pic of you lo's! They're adorable!
Linz Uggh the stomach flu! I'm glad you're feeling better though. Will being off the metaforin affect things? I'm hoping not. I'm glad you haven't had any side effects so far with it. I think I might have taken it (hard to remember - you know how much c**p they gives us ladies) but if I did I felt fine. Terri I'm so glad you had a good time in Mexico. I would love to take a vacation but am not sure when we can go - dh took a pay cut to stay in NY so.... I understand about not wanting to get your hopes up. You want to protect yourself. You sound calm and that's the best thing - I hear it can help get that bfp but I wouldn't know - I'm always a wreck Ryan I'm so glad the monitor is helping. I sleep much better with it too. Nothing much new here. Emma is having relatively brief fussy periods that seem to be helped by mylecon. Other than that she's been great. The boys adore her and ask all the time to hold her. I feel like I'm getting back to my old self. I def take the hormonal changes hard. No post partum depression this x (I had that with ds) but I did have mild baby blues which have lifted. My bp was down enough yesterday that I didn't have to take my lacix (they prescribed it on top of my regular meds to take if my bp is over a certain level). I go back to the bp dr soon and am going to ask about doing a stress test with dye and also ask if they can look at my arteries for possible blockage (not sure if the stress test would do that). I'm terrified to find out the answers but I just have to be brave and deal with whatever I find out. At this point I feel like a freak b/c so many Drs seem so surprised to see my bp and how young I am/ the number and amount of meds I'm on. sigh. That def depresses me but I'm trying to be upbeat. Ok sorry to be a downer. Hope everyone has a great day!

Please Help-planning FET in June
Hi, I found this site yesterday and visited few thread and liked it very much. Please Help
Background :I am 29(No Known issues) and DH(MFI) is 33 , I had IVF#1 In March 09 and got BFN, I had 7 eggs, 6 fertilized with ICSI, 2 good quality ET on day 3, remaining 4 made it to blastocyst and they froze them on day 5.We met my RE yesterday and planning to do FET in june Ques: the protocol my RE said will follow for FET is , Birth control pill after I get period this cycle then estrogen Injection(probably 3) they will monitor in betn and when lining will be greater then 8mm they will do transfer(I will be using progestrone suppo.), does this sound okay? Ques: for my FET they will thaw blasts 20 mins prior to my transfer, when I asked why they don't thaw early , RE said they want to put them in my uterus before they progress more, has anybody done this way before /this sounds okay? Thanks! p.s -Thank you for your time and Sorry for the long post. This is the first time I am writing to any board, so if it is not appropriate /I should not write in this thread pl. let me know I will not write anymore. |
