Linz- I’m so sorry. I know how devastating it is to have invested so much in this and so have your hopes up only to have them dashed. I’m actually doing WW with you! I love it! I’m not actually eating the amount of points I’m supposed to. I bumped myself up to weight maintenance to make sure I’m getting enough nutrition, but I’m still doing the plan – counting all my points.

Christy – 10 dpt is early, so that number doesn't sound bad! Congratulations!

Audra – What a great beta number!

I’m sorry I’ve been out a few days. We have had a horrible week. DD let the dog out of the gate and he got hit by a car. We had to do a lot of thinking and praying about whether to have him put down or fork over $3000 to have his broken leg fixed. We ended up fixing him, but I’m so stressed over all the care he will need. We so did not need this!
I’m also sick with a sinus infection. I saw the doctor yesterday and he confirmed that I’m pretty darn sick. So now I’m on some seriously hefty antibiotics and lots of other nasal sprays and pills. I’m worried about how being sick will affect my cycle. Has anyone else cycled with a cold or sinus infection and had success? My acupuncturist told me once that she has never seen anyone have a successful transfer with a cold. Ohhhhh I am soooo worried.

I hope it will, but I am pretty darn sick. Even if it does, I'm wondering if having been sick before the transfer will affect the outcome.

Linz Yoga pants LOL I thought about doing WW - these darn meds make you gain weight - but I have to be on a special low sodium diet already and it's so hard to find things I can eat especially when I go out so I never joined. Let us know when you get the schedule. I'm praying they do what my place does - patches starting on cd1 and transfer around cd16-19 or so (I think).

Ryan I'm so glad you're staying. I'm hoping things will work out with my pregnancy (I'm not getting my hopes up too high until I see a hb) and if they do I hope no one minds if I stay as well.

Lizzie Not sure about the cold getting in the way of transfer success but it seems unlikely. You prob will be better though since you are on antibiotics. Worry is such a part of the IF process for most of us. So sorry about your dog - with all the IF expenses $3000 is tough I'm sure.

Hi everyone!

I need your help. If I happen to be pregnant ( ), how do they figure out how many weeks pregnant you are...for example, my cycle started on 7/17. I did my ET on 8/4, 19 days after my cycle started. My embies were 7 day blasts, and I am doing a beta test on 8/13. Would that make me four and half weeks pregnant?

Fishingfamily-I have been feeling good. Strange. I had two complete meltdowns on Friday One was out at dinner (I have never done that...). Other than that, I feel normal. I having been looking for pregnancy, but I bet it is all in the mind.

HopefulMama-Thanks for the prayers. I have been praying every night. Some days I am more positive than others. I am not trying to get my hopes up, because I don't want to disappoint myself.

Linz-How are you doing?

The 40 weeks of pregnancy starts with the first day of your last period. Using the "typical" 28 day cycle you'd already be two weeks pregnant by the time you ovulate. So by the time you'd miss a period you'd be four weeks pregnant. Here's a calculator: IVF.ca - IVF Pregnancy Due Date and Fetal Development Calculator

Kim I've been doing the same thing - trying not to get my hopes up too high. I'm still doing that - trying not to get too excited until we see a hb. Notice I don't have a pregnancy ticker:-) The 2ww is tough. We're here for you.

So, I thought I was starting to move along. I started spotting yesterday evening and this morning it seemed that full flow had started, so I called my clinic. (They count day 1 as the first day of full flow, not spotting.) The nurse said that the schedule she's worked out for me has the transfer on Oct. 7. They'll have to manipulate my cycle again because of their two week downtime at the end of Sept. That seems like a REALLY long way away! What kind of timing do/did the rest of you have?

Hopefulmama - Can you please tell me more about your clinic's schedule? You mentioned the transfer happens on CD16-19. I feel like I'll have time for two cycles between now and Oct. 7!

That does seem like a long time away! I had to go through two full cycles, but I had a m/c. I don't see any reason why you can't go into a frozen cycle right away. Maybe they don't want anyone in the 2WW while they're closed?

Well, the expectation is that the 3-day embryo would be transferred on 3 days after ovulation, and the 5-day on 5 days after, so it shouldn't affect the EDD.

Okay Ladies I need encouragement and prayers ..I know it is still early but I have been getting -HPT and no symptoms..just a gut feeling like this didn't work this time..I've tried talking to my sister but she just keeps saying Im negative.I don't think she comprehends that sometimes it doesn't work.. Just feeling frustrated and I just love it when they say well u have 2 more??? At least u have ur son. Can I just scream. (sigh) Glad I went back to work tonight hopefully next few days will pass quickly..

Good luck on transfers today..hope everyone is okay

Thank God for you ladies I would probably be well on my way to insanity
