I think probably 90% of the women who end up with a BFP also have that 'gut feeling'. Yes, sometimes it doesn't work, but sometimes it does work with no symptoms and -HPTs! Hang in there!

Okay -

So now the anxiety is starting to set in.

Our ET of 3 embabies is occuring Thursday at 7:30 AM.

I have already done 2 PIO shots and am on my 3rd day of Endometruim (which is really yucky).

I decided that I am going to go and get a massage on Wednesday!

When I am stressed - I feel it in my neck. I am totally feeling it!

Should I go get one today too?

Megan

casb Last time I had a fresh cycle and had to take one month off before we could try a frozen cycle but as far as I understand it if we had gotten a neg we could go right into another frozen cycle (b/c I wasn't on stims and so wouldn't need the one month break). The schedule is: cd1 start vivelle patches (2 every other day to start), cd16 start PIO shots (1 cc every night to start - this is for a 5 day embryo transfer), cd19 transfer (for 5 day embryos - for 3 day embies they transfer on cd17 and might start the PIO sooner though I'm not sure about that).

Christy Did you get your repeat beta back yet?

Tanya I also had a feeling that it didn't work and was very upset. Sometimes I felt maybe it worked and then back to it def didn't. I was driving myself nuts LOL. Oh and my sister told me that she had a feeling that it didn't work and I was so upset (she means well but seems to enjoy being the bearer of bad news). Point is I don't think these feelings really mean anything (at least they didn't for me) but are more about anxiety. It's so early for you that the neg doesn't really mean that you aren't pregnant either. I know of course that sometimes FETs don't work and my family too at first seemed to think that if they put 2 in you get twins and if they put 1 in you get 1. I wish it were that easy. The 2ww is tough but stay positive (I know it's easier said than done). I'll be for you.

Megan I know - countdown to "T day" is tough. Just think on Thursday you'll be PUPO!!! The massage sounds great!

Megan: I think a massage is definatley a good idea. If I had time I would so be getting one too. I'm sure the anticipation of all of this will hit on Wednesday when we hit the road to go and get our little ones.

Christy: for your beta on Monday

Linz: I'm glad to see your up for trying again. I know it's hard but lean on those you love that understand what your going thru.

Ryan: of course we want you to stick around. Like it was said before you give us hope. How are you feeling?

Lizzie: I'm so sorry about your dog that is so hard. Especially right now when you just need someone to take care of you. I'm sure it's added to life's stresses.

Kimi: It is so understandable about having meltdowns. Yesterday when I had to start the pio I was just crying. A little because I hate needles and those are ginormus, a little because fet is so close and I hate the unknown outcomes of things, and a little I think just cause. Ugh

Tanya: I agree with Irena. Sometimes our gut is right on and sometimes it's not. we are all hoping and you get you bfp!!

As for us we do have to travel to Seattle for our Fet. We live in Montana and there are no IF facilities here. So we'll be leaving on Wednesday afternoon and coming home on Monday. I don't know what we did wrong with the pio yesterday morn but yesterday afternoon where we had done that shot it hurt so bad and still does today. Any ideas??

Fishing - You may have hit a nerve with the needle. We did this once and it was sooooo painful the next day. Also, be sure you are using heat after you give the shot. We used to give it and then DH would massage the area with a warm washcloth for several minutes. Then I would lay down with that side on a heating pad for about 20 minutes. This helped a lot.

fishingfamily For me sometimes the PIO hurts and sometimes it doesn't at all... There doesn't seem to be a bad spot or anything - it's just hit or miss. I agree though- it could be that you hit a nerve.

Fishing- Sometimes I would hit something (not sure what it was) and it would really hurt later. Actually it would hurt for several days and I would use the other cheek for a few days to let it heal. Never tried a heating pad. Should have though. Good luck with those and with your upcoming FET. I am feeling good these days. I guess I am now in my second trimester. I get confused if 13 or 14 weeks it the begining. Whatever I guess it really doesn't matter.

Lizzie- Sorry about your little dog. So glad you were able to help him even though it so darn expensive. Like you don't have enough right now huh.

Tanya- Sometimes during this process you just can't depend on feeling cause we are all hopped up on drugs!! I know I was 110% sure mine didn't work and I was crying and just plain miserable. Try and take it one day at a time and maybe leave the hpt's alone for a day or two and let yourself relax. Hope you start feeling better soon. Oh and I know what you mean about peoples comments "at least you have your son" and "you have two more" They just can't understand what you are going through. Only one who has been through it knows your frustrations. Hope you can tune it out, and remember they don't understand.

Kimic- Keeping you in my thoughts. How are you feeling?

Tanya - I know it's hard to deal with people and their comments in the 2ww. Truth is people just don't understand!! Hope you've found support here to help you! I'll be for your !!

Megan - I understand your anxiety!! I have my transfer tomarrow and I woke up thinking such negative things. It was so wierd because I've been so posititive the whole time, but now that it's crunch time, you start to doubt. I definetly think you should get a massage as many times you think you need ! This is the time to spoil yourself! I just got back from mine and it was great!

Audra - how have you been feeling? Has the baby (babies!?!) been treating you well?

Lizzie - So sorry to hear about your dog. Hope he's feeling better! How are you doing? Has your cold cleared up any?

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Hi Ladies,

I was scheduled for 3d ET today, but decided to freeze everything due to hyperstimulation. So I am a ways off on the FET, but am happy to jump on here and get a sneak peak of the process.

Since we didn't get a chance at a fresh cycle, I'm so afraid that none of my embies are going to make the thaw!! Does anyone else have this fear?

Also - why is the PIO necessary with an FET? I thought that the body would produce the progesterone naturally in you are not doing any stims/messing with existing hormones?? We only did 3 of those shots, but are looking to avoid them in the future!!

Congrats to the and cheering for those in the process!!

Michellep – I asked today about the need for estrogen patches during FET. The RN told me that with a FET I won’t produce any hormones except the ones they give me. Maybe that’s the deal with the PIO too? It makes sense since a fresh cycle requires the PIO too, since our bodies won’t realize as soon as with a “natural” cycle and make our own Progesterone.

As for me, turns out full flow started yesterday evening after all. I talked to the RN this morning and I have a baseline appt. tomorrow at 8am. Provided I don't have any cystic structures and my hormones are good, I could start a cycle immediately. I'll skip BCP & Lupron and only do estrogen & PIO and have the transfer tentatively on Sept. 11. Great date, I know, but at least I wouldn't have to wait until October.

Glad your aboard!! Sorry you had to freeze everything, but FET's really do work and in some cases better than a fresh cycle. I believe the reason for all the meds are because we arnt ovulating and producing the cyst that provides the hormones for the first 10-12 weeks of pregnancy. The cyst reacts to the production of HCG in our system and continues on to produce progesterone and estrogen. Well anyway no cyst no hormones so we have to supplement for the first trimester. I am actually taking suppositories and estrogen tabs, but should be stopping in the next few days since I am 13 weeks now. What is your clinics thaw rate? I had 4 froze and thawed all 4 at transfer time. All 4 survived. Don't worry about thawing so much cause It's not usually a problem if you have more than 1 and it sounds like you probably do. Good luck on your FET when you do get to start. Sorry I went on and on hope I made sense.

Thanks Ryan and CasB! I am going to get a period, and then wait for my next period to start the FET cycle. It looks like you ladies are going ahead right after your first period from a cycle? I guess every clinic is different and I will have to ask about that.

I would think on an FET that since we are ovulating naturally, that our body will produce what it needs normally....i.e. we ovulate and so have a corpus luteum producing estrogen.... if that makes any sense. I guess maybe that's a "natural FET cycle" which is only one option.

So much to learn, it never ends!!

Yep, I'm jumping right back in the stirrups. I'm even skipping my first mission trip in three years this Oct. just to keep this moving along. That and I don't have a good feeling about being on BCP's for that long and still having this work.

I wish I understood more about what all the hormones do, but it seems like everything I hear, whether from my RE or on these boards, is contradictory. My RE has a success rate above the national average, so I just do what he tells me to.

Ryan-2 days until first BETA. I have been having a little bit of cramping, especially last night. It almost feels like ovulation pains, and likes to switch sides. Other than that, I had my 3rd meltdown last night...so strange. It could be from the meds.

Ladies, two days and counting...I may lose it before then...
