Imhis- why do you have to do the patches if you are taking Estrace? I have heard of women doing both before, wondering if I should ask for the patches as well.

ms610...You know, I dont really know why they have me do both. I have never asked. I just do them because they said to. I can ask Monday when I go. All I can think of is that it is a back up to the estrace and it continuous amount going in. I also am instructed to put the estrace under my tongue and let it disolve because they think it absorbes better. It seems to work because when I go in for my 1st US after I start them, my lining is usually already where it needs to be. They arent badd either. A little gritty, but they are small so its no biggie.

Hi All! It's so exciting to hear everyone moving along! I haven't received my calendar, and my RE hasn't started me on anything yet. My FET was supposed to happen on the 10th and I am starting to feel my RE forgot me!

I don't really do anything without stims, so he decided not to use Lupron (yeah, no headaches!), and will I use Delestrogen (Estrogen IM) and Progesterone in Oil during the cycle.

But, if we're going to do a FET on the 10th shouldn't I have started something by now? It's Saturday and the nurse is in today, so I called and she said asked if had shown up and I told her that it hadn't she said, "hmmm". I told her that the RE decided not to use Provera or Lupron this cycle. She told me that the doctor was going to be working on February calendars on Monday and Tuesday so I should hear from him early next week.

That didn't make me feel overly comfortable, and because this whole process has been such a roller coaster, I am starting to feel nervous that we're very late in getting started.

I have all my meds in the house (the Delestrogen and Progesterone) so I can start just as soon as he says "go", but still just a bit nervous and anxious to get started again.

I, like others, am having a difficult time getting excited about this cycle. Last cycle I had a very low beta positive and it just wasn't viable. Very disheartening. I just turned 43, so we used younger donor eggs, but part of me wonders if I am just too darn old.

prayingforamiracle... I would call the RE Monday afternoon again and make sure they are going to work on it. If you feel uncomfortable, then you should do what you need to do to make yourself feel better.
My tansfer is the 10th, I started my meds last wed. But I was also on BCP 3 week before that. From what i see with others on this board, I seem to be on things a little longer... like i end up taking the estrace and patches for a total of 3 weeks before the transfer, so if your RE doe sit that way, I would think you would be on them, but it sounds maybe like he does a shorter cycle?

I understand you not getting too excited. I think after doing this stuff we just get more realistic. I think as it gets closer you will get more hopeful. Also... you ARE NOT too old! 43 is young these days... besides if youa re too old, that makes me too old. I am fixing to be 41. Lets hang in there! We can do it!

Just stopped in to see how you ladies are doing. It is so funny that you both have the same tentative transfer day. I can't wait to hear (on the same day) about your s!!! Hope i'm not to late to join in! Looks like we will be doing our first fet on 2/10 or 2/11. I am also having a hard time getting excited. Maybe that is a good thing since with the excitement comes the nerves. this is such a strange feeling no us every other day and wayyyy less meds i'm scared i'm missing something!

waiting4bfp... thank you for the well wishes. I am doing well. I went for my first US and BW since starting the estrace and my lining is laready at 12... Dont know about the e2 level yet, but at least we know that my lining is all good and this is just my 6th day on it. I asked if this could mean they will move my transfer date up and we dont know. She said I need to be on the estrace at least 12-14 days. My next check is on Friday and the 1st will be my 12th day, so I dont know if they will leeave me the same or not. I will do whatever they think is best.

nursebetty74..you are not too late to join. We are glad to have you here. FET's are WAY less complicating, so dont worry, you are not missing anything but less hassle! I felt the same way you did on my first transfer but now.. I love it.

Ok, I am a little concerned. My RE does not check my estrogen level during FET's???? As I read more about everyone's protocols, I am concerned mine should be checked. Should I ask about this during my appt on Thursday? The purpose of this appt is to check my lining.

Ms610 – My RE has never checked estrogen levels either. However, I use intramuscular shots for my estrogen as well as my progesterone so he never checks either one. He said since I am taking them intramuscularly he is sure that it is being absorbed correctly. He does check my uterine lining every cycle.

Imhis – Wow! Your lining is already at a 12! Great! I am curious, why do you have to be on meds for 12 days before transfer if the lining is ready?

Well I’m under way. Although my RE wouldn’t admit it, I think he forgot about me. I called over the weekend to find out when I should start my meds and my RE called me this morning and told me to start my Delestrogen today at .2. The last two cycles, I started at .1 and took that for a week and a ½ before moving up to .2 for another two weeks prior to transfer. By starting today, I will have only two weeks of Delestrogen before FET on the 10th. I have a lining check on the 6th. I guess it’s a good thing I called his office over the weekend. Anyway, I’m on my way!!!

prayingforamiracle... Im not sure why I need to be on the estrace for 12 days. I do know they want my e2 to be above 700, so maybe that is why. I was at 529 Monday. I go back Friday, if my level is above 700, and they start me on the PIO shots, which they like you on 5-6 days before transfer, it will be 12-14 days. So I think he just really likes you up in the high numbers for some reason, I guess just to have the extra support.
Im glad to see you are on your way as well. Yippie... it always feels go to feel like you are finally getting somewhere.

ms610... For your peace of mind, I would just ask my RE why they dont monitor that. Every RE is diferent, maybe my RE just goes over board just because. Maybe mine just wants to know every step of the way what is happening and some others just know its working so they are good with that. I dont know. As for me, I like knowing, but its a personal preference for me.
I hope your lining looks good today.

I cant wait to see where my lining and everything else is Friday. I seem to be climing up faster in my levels and lining than I did the first cycle. I hope this is a good sign.

I am done with my BCP's finally but am still on the Lupron. I take 20 units a day, and then on Feb. 1st I decrease to 10 units a day, plus I'll be adding in the Estrace too.

My transfer is scheduled for Feb. 17th.

My fresh cycle in Nov., the transfer was postponed because of severe OHSS.

We're very similar!! My fresh transfer in Nov. was also postponed due to severe OHSS, so we're doing FET on Feb. 26. I finished BCP's on Monday, doing Lupron, and adding Vivelle patches next Tuesday.

I go tomorrow for my 2nd check. Things looked so good the first ck I am hoping they move the date to next week instead of the 10th...but...all in Gods timing!

I am keeping my that maybe they move you up..but if they don't the 10th really isn't that far off!!! I'm really scared. Not of the FET..because it's no biggie..but..of maybe the disapointment of another BFN!!
