bsadler81... I understand about the part of getting another BFN...we did 1iui, 2 ivf and 1 fet with donor embryos and all BFN.... this may be our last go, we have 4 embryos left. Last transfer we used 2 and 2 didnt make it.
I said after using all of these if we get bfn's Im done with my body. We do have children between us (blended family) so we are good...plus the money. then today, my husband is onterviewing with a diferent company that has infertility benefits, and a good amount... I already started getting tempted in wanting to do more. ack... Im not so sure I had an egg issue after all since I had a hysteroscopy that removed polyps by my new RE AFTEr all teh other stuff, and I have since read that Lupron is not the best for women over 40..I have lots of eggs...
But..i cant get a head of myself... I am hoping this transfer just works! Its sad how this infertility stuff almost becomes addictive!

Aloha Ladies,

I've had a really rough week so far. Although my Monday ultra sound seemed good, lining at 5.5, my E2 levels were really low. So I was instructed to do blood work again on Wednesday, and again they came back low. I was then told to put an additional patch on (4x Climara) and come in tomorrow to do a scan.

So I go in today, lining seems to be looking up, 6.5, but RE wants me to also do shots to now. Has anyone else done the estradiol shots?

I'm now worried this cycle will be canceled. Or something could be wrong. When I asked the dr why he thought my levels were low he said it could just be that the patches dont work well with me. Anyone else have any ideas?

I really dont want to stress to much. So far this cycle has been the easiest to relax and focus on positive energy but now I'm starting to worry.

nbianca...I dont really know why your levels and lining are not rising enough, it may be just that your body requires more, maybe it doesnt absorb just the patches well.
I do estrodiol pills, 2mg three times a day under my tongue, and vivelle dots (patches) one patch changing it every third day.
After 5 days I was already a 12 in my lining and 529 on my e2 levels.
So maybe it just isnt enough for you to be on just the patches????
Im sure teh shots will do good for you, but I have never taken them.
I only do PIO 5-6 days before the transfer.

Well its official, my FET is going to be next week,
2-3-09. Had my u/s today, my lining was 9.1 and he felt is should be around 10 or 11 by Tuesday. So tonight I start medrol and endometrin. Took my last dose of Lupron this morning..... I hate taking those shots. Anyway, just wanted to give an update on my appointment this morning.

Nbianca, don't worry about your lining, my RE likes for it to be around 7, so you are pretty much there. I think it just takes some of us a little longer to get to that level. I really think you will be fine.

Imhis-so jealous of your 12 lining....that is awesome! Maybe I should ask for the patches next time.

So hard to get ready for this-----its next week, 5 days away!!! OMG.....I have to try and get a little more excited. I am just so afraid of disappointment again. Got to stay motivated.

My lining has never been this fluffy. All they are waiting on now is for my e2 levels to be over 700. I hope it is that way tomorrow, if so they may move me up to the 4th or 5th!!

I think along with the patches, the estrodiol 2mg three times a day, melted under my tongue really helped.

I think it's totally normal to kind of obsess over the things that happen - I know I would be worried, too, even though there's probably no need to be. I'll be thinking of you.

We had lots of activity today! I had my E2 levels taken. I just continue Lupron, start Vivelle patches on Monday, and my next appt (u/s and E2 levels) is on Feb. 17. This is all kind of excrutiatingly slow!!

I use the estradiol shots. It's thick, but I only take .2 every three days, no stinging, no side effects. My RE never even checks my estrogen levels while on shots, he says it is most assuredly "taking" if it is injected.

Your RE probabyl really wants to be sure that lining continues to develop. Everything will turn out fine.

My Fet is on 2/5/..so you are a couple of days ahead of me! I so totaly feel the same way I am not excited this time around. The only thing I'm excited about is the bed rest!!! Isn't that awful? Good luck to you

YIPPIE.... YIPPIE... went for my 2nd US and BW this morning. My lining is a 14! They said that since my e2 level was 529 Monday with my lining 12, then it should be over 700 today with the lining being 14...so they moved my transfer date to the 5th!

Bsadler81---thanks for the words of encouragement. How long is your bedrest? I am planning 48 hours. Then I think back to work on the 3rd day. Maybe I should take an extra day????

My FET is scheduled for 9:30 on Tuesday. I am a little nervous about the weather though. We just got drilled with almost a foot of snow and ice. They are forecasting possibly more for Monday. So, we maybe staying in a hotel close to the hospital on Monday night. Not taking any chances, we live almost an hour from the clinic. I hope it misses us, I really want this to go smooth. Can't change the weather I suppose.......
