Cathi - Congrats on your mini-without-mother-in-law vacation.

Mery I know what you mean, I've never been a really mean person, but lately I'm getting down right mean sometimes. My hubby says I'm mean now too.

Cathi - I'm glad you only have to deal with home rest instead of hospital rest. My finding out date got pushed back a day. The u/s tech won't be in on Wednesday so they called and rescheduled for Thursday. Could have gone on Monday instead, but hubby couldn't get off work and he wants to be there.

Northeast girl - Didn't make it to your neck of the woods after all. My hubby (is wimpy sometimes) doesn't like to travel the day before he goes back to work. It was his idea in the first place. Anyhow, we just went to Springfield and poked around the mall, then to dinner. It was good anyways.

I'll have to check out the fit flops too, all I've worn all summer log is flip flops. I do wear my sneakers on Fridays (cuz it's jeans day and I wear them with my jeans), but it's so nice to have my feet airy when it's so hot. On Friday's I just die from the heat. I've been wondering (pondering) what I'm gonna wear on my feet come winter. It snows a lot here and I don't know if I can do the flip flop thing come snow time.

It's official, we only OWN 1 Mortgage now!!! Yipee!!!

Now I can for sure stay home after baby is born! I'm very excited.

Holding - Congrats!!! I am so happy it is all done!!!

Mery - I am emotionally all over the place too...one minute I am fine and another watch out...peeps make me mad pretty easy lately...I need to relax too...

Went to the doc last night...my left foot and leg were quite swollen...so compression stockings it is...ahh does he realize it is 90 degrees and 1,000% humidity out there?? Ihave them on but we will see how long I can go with them...We are thinking of a road trip to North Carolina...anyone have any thoughts suggestions?

Hope everyone has a good day...stay cool and hydrated!

hopeful - do you need compression stockings for just one leg?? or do you have to wear them on both. what did the ob say about it?

i went to acupuncture yesterday and it was really great..she said my ankles and calfs were swollen, which i already knew about my ankles, but after i left they were a bit better. i will see what my ob says this friday. it did help me relax though.

Hlding- That is such great news about your house! Yippee for getting to stay home!!!

Mery-Acupuncture sounds so good right now (I've enver done it, but I have so many aches and pains right now, I'm sure it would help!) I think you're right, when the weather cools off, we will feel better.

Hopeful- North Carolina is sooo beautiful! I love the Asheville area. It would be a very scenic road trip. Oh, and your compression stockings will help prevent the varicose veins that so many people get, which is an added bonus!

AFM- I am tired, and I don't feel super today. I took my pre-natal vitami this morning instead of last night, and I think it made me a little sick. On a side note, what kind of cribs are you gals going to get? We were thinking of getting the kind that converts to a toddler bed and eventually full-sized bed, but wonder if it's worth it. Any thoughts???

Hi Mery - they are for both legs...he said that the way the uterus tilts while pregnant it presses on the left side and kinda blocks the flow of blood return, plus all the added weight. They are just so fashionable LOL! I feel like a granny.

marthac - I've heard of Ashville....Thanks I will put that on the list. We are looking at the conversion cribs as well...my parents are buying the crib and they also said they are going to get the side rails and toddler bed conversion as well.

hey everyone!

i'm really going to try to get back in the habit of coming here everyday... so sorry if i've been missing lately!

hopeful - that stinks about the stockings, but hopefully it will bring you some relief from the swelling!

martha - we're not planning on doing a convertible crib. my thoughts are that cribs tend to have a lot of wear and tear and we also plan on having another baby pretty soon after... so hopefully we can just get our little boy into a regular bed and then use the crib for the second baby. we'll see how it goes though! i do like the look of many of the convertible cribs though.. and if i were in your situation i might go that route instead.

mery - yay for acupuncture! i'm glad it's helping you feel good!

holding - that's awesome that you get to stay home! that's my DREAM, but unfortunately won't be my reality!

AFM, i'm feeling good. today is 20 weeks! woohoo... halfway there!

how much has everyone gained so far?

anyone have belly pictures to share????

martha - it is the probably the vitamin that is doing it..i have to take mine right before bed, otherwise it makes me nauseous. we are getting the convertible..just because that is the one we love. it has a drawer underneath too, so that is also a plus!

hopeful - i know those stockings probably stink right now in the heat!! i'm sure you will get used to them..i hope! i'm sure they will do the trick though and you will not feel so bad. at least our biggest months will be in the winter! i just hope we have a cold winter here in so cal...you never know..on christmas it could be 80 degrees!!

maybe - yeah...20 weeks! i know...1/2 way there..it went by so fast! my last ob was 3 1/2 weeks ago and i had gained 8 pounds total...i go again friday so we will see. my tummy has definitely pooched out alot more, but everyone says i still look the same, just with a pg belly. i've been trying to eat really healthy, but definetly splurge on occasion. i don't have a belly pic, but we need to start taking them! do you?

Maybeamommy...You look adorable. I have to take belly pictures. So far, I've gained 8 lbs.

Hopeful...I have not stayed in North Carolina, but tomorrow we are headed to Hilton Head, South Carolina for a few days to visit family. Compression stockings do not sound like fun to me especially wearing them during the summer. Yikes!

Mery...That is a great idea ACP. I'm looking into the doula but unfortunately we do not have that many.

Marthac...I need to do more research on finding the best crib. DH and I really like the crib that grows with the kid, but consumer reports did not rank it high. So we have to go back to the drawing board.

Holdingmybreath...Congratulations on having one mortgage. Also, you are one lucky girl to stay home after the baby is born.

AFM...Drum roll please.....we are having a........BOY!
I can't believe it. I truly thought I was having a girl. DH was thrilled and grinning from ear to ear.

Nascar- Congrats on your BOY!!!

Cathi and Maybe- you both look so cute! I am up 16 lbs. as of last week, so probably a bit more now. I have decided to only weigh at the doctor's office. My scale at home isn't so reliable.

I will go to my first MFM appt tomorrow, so hopefully we will know what baby C is!
