I had my first acupuncture appointment yesterday. It was rather interesting. I didnt know what to expect, but it didnt hurt. The dr. was very helpful and explained all the flow of the body as he put the needles in. I am going again tomorrow and 2 times next week. I also go for my bloodwork and ultrasound tomorrow and start my femtrace.

DH INFORMED ME HIS BROTHERS ARE COMING FOR A VISIT ON THE 11, I WAS STARTING TO STRESS OUT AS MY TRANSFER DATE IS FOR THE 10 AND IM REALLY NOT IN THE MOOD TO HAVE HOUSE GUESTS AROUND, IM PRAYING MY TRANSFER DATE GETS PUSHED FORWARD A FEW DAYS SO I CAN RELAX IN BED A FEW DAYS BEFORE THEY ARRIVE.

MarthaC...This Monday I will probably get AF and I'm hoping the transfer will fall between April 5-9.
I heard the sucess rate is lower with the FET; therefore, I am going to ask RE to transfer 4. I have a total of 9 in the bank.

Krissy...That is tough to have company during this time. On the positive side, it might keep you from thinking about the entire process...just a thought.

KCFCLF...I totally agree. I look forward to ACP. Are you on herbs or taking a baby aspirin?

Hello, can I join the group? I received a call from my RE yestedrday and he had me start intramuscular estrogen yesterday, I'll have an ultrasound to check my uterine lining on 4/3, and egg transfer is scheduled for 4/10. I'm back on the track!

Just got my transfer date--April 6! Was supposed to be the 2nd, but my estradiol was low. But, came up nicely adding another patch. Can't wait!

Hi Brownbelt. This forum is the one for FETs - or frozen embryo transfers. We have already been through retrieval and are now transferring embryos that were frozen during our fresh IVF cycles. You might be able to find more people in situations similar to yours on the IVF board.

To answer your question though, after your eggs are retrieved and fertilized, the clinic will allow them to grow for either 3 or 5 days. There is controversy surrounding which is better or more effective, but a 3-day transfer is just transferring the embryos 3 days after retrieval and a 5 day is transferring them 5 days after retrieval. For a 3 day and a 5 day, the embryo will be in different stages (4 cell, 8 cell, blastocyst, etc) depending on how it's developing.

Polar...I see that your RE has put you on lupron. Is that the protocol for FET? The reason why I ask is because my RE did not have me go on lupron and I was curious why he didn't.

Praying...You and I are on the same schedule. My RE wants me to go in for bloodwork and an u/s on April 3. That is great to have a partner. We can compare notes.

Wishing...Congratulations on the date. My date is between April 5-9.

MarthaC...I'm getting excited. My ACP told me that is okay to stop the herbs. I was surprise...she told me that I'm ready.

MY RE DOES NOT GIVE ME LUPRON EITHER, BUT IM DOING A NATURAL FET CYCLE BUT I DO GET A TRIGGER SHOT TO INSURE MY OVULATION 36 HOURS LATER THEY COUNT IT AS DAY 1 THEN 3 DAYS LATER I HAVE THE TRENSFER, I DO GET PROGESTERONE SUPP. AND I DO LOVE THE ACP.. I HAVE BEEN GOING 2 A WEEK AND STARTING NEXT WEEK IM STARTING SHIATSU MASSAGE ITS KIND OF LIKE ACP... BUT THEY JUST PUT PRESSURE ON CERTAIN POINTS OF THE BODY ITS GREAT.

Hello ladies

I had my bloodwork done today and set-up my transfer date. I am going on April 8th. It looks good and all my bloodwork numbers are where they need to be. Next Monday is another ultrasound and bloodwork and we will see if we are still on track for April 8th.

I also made arrangements for acupuncture the day of the transfer. My clinic said that they actually work with a company that has it all set up for patients right there at the clinic. Its great. I am getting excited.

Nascar01 - what herbs are you taking? My ACP has not recommended anything to me. I think I am going to ask him about it on Thursday during my next appt.

Set up my first acupunture appointment for Saturday...I realize I'm starting late, but I figured if I can get two or three sessions in before the transfer and a few after it's better than none at all...I guess I was scared of what they will do...can you please share some of your experiences?
